those tools/gizmos started to disappear when plastic cased cartridges came the norm....

some of those paper cartridges swole so big you couldnt  get them in the chamber

Quite right the day of needing one on the marsh is long gone

I’ve seen many types over the years my favourite would probably be a silver one with a extractor at one end and the other end crafted into a Dog head whistle

Having read the reply I shall not comment further at this moment in time

It seems a unfortunate chain of events has led to the delay in getting a reply

Many thanks for your input

Can appreciate that something unfortunate doesn’t need shouting from the roof tops, but is the cause of the problem similarly restricted or has that aspect not been resolved as yet?

As most on here know I shoot almost nothing else but 410 and normally shoot about 20 days a year driven, so go through a lot of shells.  I have had a lot of burnt ends on shells, always on red plastic various makes but never on Fiocchi green.

I have never had a case head come off and I shoot a Mossy pumper as well as o/u and sbs.  This is over around seven years of exclusively shooting 410.

Something drastically wrong with the chell manufacture. Do the cartridge makers buy their shells from outside companies?

China perhaps.
