Banquet obviously has a far different meaning in Chesterfield!

Yes - its original form

"Banquet comes from a French word meaning "bench," and originally a banquet was a small snack — something you could eat while sitting on a bench."

And its current accepted meaning is a table struggling under the weight of good food, not a thrown together snack.

You'll always be known as the man who defined a Chesterfield Banquet.

🤣🤣🤣 Well, it almost attracted one of the dogs 😆😂🤣

TBH, a couple of years ago that would have been a lunchtime snack for me, with a couple more sausages of course 😁

Can't say I fully remember, but possibly way back in the 90's 😳 In desperation 'cos I was skint 🤔😂

when one is not too hungry and you need to eat something when you take yer pills ....a small tin of ravioli or beans and sausages....on toast really hit the spot.............

its like the canine version of "Chappie"...

Hmmm.  The tinned ravioli I rarely have, but can eat on toast with a nice grating of cheese on top.

Beans on toast is fine - even better if the toast is spread with beef dripping rather than butter.  The sausages in the tinned beans are dire - horrible texture and don't taste much better.  In addition - the tins of beans with sausages are MUCH more expensive than just the tinned beans.

Tip:   Keep a few ready cooked favourite sausages or chipolatas and rashers of favourite bacon (both cooked exactly to your own version of perfection) in the freezer, and take one out and add to the standard beans.  Cheaper and far far nicer than the rubbery tinned sausages.
