Were Hamas voted in by Palestinians?

My ears ***** up when terms such as vast support for terrorism / terrorist organisations are bandied about without evidence. Support for the plight of the Palestinian's  could easily be misinterpreted as support for Hamas. Support for a cause should not be conflated with support for terrorism.

This. As firearms owners we are absolutely enraged by assumptions, agenda driven biased reporting and just plain and simple sloppy reporting, so we HAVE to get it as right as we possibly can when making comments.

Douglas Murray made a good point about the support that Hamas have from the Palestinian population and how the wider Palestinian population (brain washed from birth under a Hamas state controlled education system) behave. The naked dead body of the girl paraded through the streets of Gaza - no one person stood in disgust or shyed away in fact they all came out to kick and stab at the dead body. Barbarians.

This.

And in answer to the op, yes palistinians in Gaza voted for and generally support Hamas. The west bank is more moderate.

And who is taking all the aid that is pouring into Palestine? The UN formed the State of Israel and now does not know how to solve the situation with Hamas the dictatorship controlling the area and people of Gaza and it does not help when teachers here brainwash kids as young as 7 to support murder of innocent babies by a terror organnisation when in fact they should be taught an unbiased view and let them judge the truth for themselves as this is what teaching should be about not a one sided view by those in charge

Thanks for the replies gents. As I suspected it seems whilst some of the general population in Gaza have to at least show some support for Hamas and help hide and protect them, its telling that the protesters around the world not under Hamas control actively support and endorse Hamas atrocities on Oct 7.

That is quite sickening to see happening on our streets.

any proof for such a broad brush stroke think you will find it’s more a case people are sickened by the appalling death toll and victimisation of Palestinian civilians rather than any support for the hamas idiots sickening part is everyone knows it yet pretend otherwise to ease their guilty conscience

And what about the attrocites carried out by Hamas? Who started this conflict? Beheading babies and killing is not victimisation of a certain country? We have certain politicians in this country who break bread with Terrorists and make sure that the media see that There has been no comdenation of Hammas for their start of this conflict okay two sides in every dispute but to take sides without knowing the full history is wrong

Given that Hamas have had a tight grip on Gaza and the populace for well over a decade (controlling education, media, health services and cancelling elections etc) and are launching rockets and are dug in under those schools and hospitals etc., how are the Israelis to dislodge, fight or otherwise forcefully dissuade Hamas from future attacking Israel and murdering Israeli civilians?

Indeed, the advance notice the Israelis provided to evacuate the city appeared to be fair warning of what was going to have to happen next.

What was telling for me was when the Guardian held back the story of Hamas attacking Israeli civilians, wait for the inevitable Israeli air force response 6 hours later and just so they got to run the story of the attack on Israel but leadings with photos of Gaza up in smoke.

The Palestinians (aka Hamas) were offered a 2 state solution under the Camp David accords but they rejected it in favour of continuing to try and wipe Israel off the map.

The sane know which way is up in this and what happens next when you invade Israel and slaughter 1500 of their civilians. There we go.

When will you and others wake up and stop talking about Hamas as though they are a race. They are Palestinians.!!!

Exactly that.  Whoever thought attacking Israel like that was a good idea had taken leave of their senses.  Out of almost every country in the world, Israel is most likely to react swiftly and strongly in retaliation.  Everyone knows that.

Indeed, and why wouldn’t they and why shouldn’t they?

They have to - it is (at least in the rhetoric) their survival that is being threatened.

Quite. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again; you do not mess with the Israelis, they have nowhere else to go.

Could it be that is what they wanted, hoping it would drag others into the war such as their backers Iran.

I don't know where they stand with other backers like Iran, Lebanon etc., but I imagine they would have discussed 'options'?  So far, no one else is rushing to join in as far as we hear.

And because of their history they take the threat of extermination quite seriously.

Yes and Hamas didn’t get the help they thought they would from Iran, but they’ve had plenty of help from the usual suspects and useful idiots.

No proof - but of course all the protesters, young schoolchildren and university students haven't been encouraged to dislike Jews right?

Odd though, right?

Perfectly rational question. And we all know you can't dislodge the terror group that is Hamas with poetry, kind words or crystals. Moreover, negotiations were previously attempted and rejected by Hamas (sic Camp David etc) and so we know that that won't work with a terror group committed to the destruction of the state of Israel.

The reason the useful idiots don't address that question however, is because we are then but perhaps two more questions and answers away from showing their true intentions and their support for the eradication of the state of Israel (which if they had any understanding of the factual history they would realize is bonkers and just boils down to old fashioned antisemitism). I've still yet to find a hard lefty who will give a jew, any jew, an even break.

Very.

I believe the two state option has been tabled three times in history and turned down each time by the Palestinians.

Says an awful lot, does that! They just want a genocide of the Israelis, all of them.

More of the sane v insane 🤪
