New years fireworks extravaganzas

I recall reading the cost of the ‘fireworks’ is paid for by the London department for culture or something similar, this is funded via local tax.
the ticket cost goes towards security, clean up and other ‘running costs’

the figures were published around ticket uptake. It was something like 50 percent ‘out of towners’ 25 percent Londoners and 25 percent foreign visitors.

the total cost give or take a couple of hundred grand is £2million

this is about half of the other capital cities expenditure.

imagine the outcry if next year London said we are not doing any fireworks this year.
does the economy generate the cost of the fireworks - quite probably

I went up for the first time and it was amazing. Stayed the night in Victoria and walked to Lambeth bridge I think first bridge down from the eye and the start of where they started charging from. Yes it’s side on to the London eye but still a brilliant experience. I must live a very sheltered life as no one was speaking English and most seemed to be smoking weed.

Offsetting the display? So 2 million on fireworks and a load of paper to indicate they have planted some trees to compensate ! Just proves the clean air zones are a further taxation stream.

A load of nutters from the pm down !

Agreed, I want someone to explain to me how it's possible to buy a mythical credit from another mythical?
