Sussexboy
It is only a change to the Benefit In Kind tax rules for company cars. The VED should stay the same , as for insurance…..who can second guess what the different company algorithms will dictate.
countryman
If insurance companies can make some money on a change you can bet your policy is going up.
mgsontour
Good and bad news lads depending what side of the fence you play. Our Government has announced that as from July crew cab pick ups will be taxed like cars for those self employed type people who put their shoot bus through as a work truck. I’m in the same boat (or truck) drive a ranger wildtrack with no commercial use at all and no carrying of goods other than my own property (shooting / fishing gear) and yet have to pay for commercial insurance, I shall be keeping an eye on this with fingers crossed for a reduction in price. Stephen-H
Will this make them exempt from the proposed manchester euro 6 emission zone for commercial vechiles only? As they should fall under a light vechile category now?

I am not vat regsterd and cannot clame vat back VAT can only be charged, if the VAT on the original purchase was claimed back. If the original purchaser hasn't claimed the VAT back, then no VAT can be charged on the sale. If they have claimed the VAT back, then VAT has to be charged on the sale.
