You , or more precise your boy picked a lovely day to get married on and sadly nowadays instead  of going to Three weddings and funeral it is now very one sided the other way round , Didn't you get a couple of hours in decoying on your ole haunts while they were dancing the night away Mr JDog ?

I remember many years ago when wildfowling was like a drug to me my wife's brothers daughter got married on the 1st of September which was on a Saturday , she asked me if I was going to take her and I said yes as long as I am away by 7 pm , this she was happy with and the deal was done , this was a top hat and tails affair , not me I must add , anyhow it was a afternoon White wedding and they left the church on a horse and cart which took ages to get to the hotel which was along the sea front , anyhow they finally arrived and we all headed to the dining room where they started off with the meal and drinks , this went on and on and on and all I kept doing was looking at my watch , after what seemed like ages it then got down to the speeches , again another drawn out affair , at long last they then moved to the dance hall , this is where I said my good byes and I was off , I whipped off home and just changed my suit to my more normal gear and I was back on the road in less than 10 minutes after arriving home , I had a 15 mile journey and even though it was around 8 o clock when I got there I still had time for flight as we had a lot of Mallard going on some unharvested wheat , we all all got a few duck and I was voted the best dressed wildfowler out on the marsh , mind you all I had on from the wedding was my shirt and tie so you can tell what the other riff raff was wearing

It certainly was , I don't drink and I would had found the evening totally boring , with it being the 1st of September I had to get my ( fix ) and I was good enough to go in the first place , if I had to stay I dare say it would had been the start of divorce proceedings , it would had been at bit ironic that attending a wedding was the reason for a divorce  , my motto for a happy marriage was , start off how you intend to carry on , when my wife passed away just before Christmas we  had been together for around 50 years and we both had a brilliant married life ,I stuck to my vows and had no regrets whatsoever :good:
