Cosmicblue Posted Monday at 17:02 Report Share Posted Monday at 17:02 The automotive industry is in deep trouble, just take a look at Autotrader and cars for sale with less than 500 miles on the clock...there are loads there for a fraction of the usually ridiculous list price. For the Volkswagen Audi Group (VAG) - which is VW, Audi, Seat, Cupra, Skoda, Bentley, Bugatti, Porsche, Lamborghini and Ducati they have some huge challenges, many of the models of the ranges are old and long overdue for replacement. The VAG group are facing the perfect storm, massively in debt, an aging, undesirable product that's too expensive in markets that are in an economic downturn and a bunch of competitors who have good products at the right price. It’s the forerunner to what is happening with German manufacturing. More will follow. German economic decline will signal the end of the EU. It feels like we’re in a bubble just waiting for it to pop.
armsid Posted Monday at 21:40 Author Report Share Posted Monday at 21:40 The way to go green is to convert current vehicles to electric will save increase jobs save companies and keep the work in this country. As i said in a previous post we had electric cars on the road using the induction from a cable sunk under the M4 between Newbury and Reading a nine mike strip used by the Road Research Laboratory The 3 cars used were a Mini Citroen DS and Vanguard Estate these three cars are in the Transport Museum in London They were almost driverless could well exceed current speed limits and did not need batteries while on the motorway and the idea was scrapped but my point is we can build electric cars and petrol cars in the same factories and give the consumer the choice

The number of cars on the road is dropping steadily because of increasing costs. The family second car is often the one that has to go. But electric vehicles are no substitute, massive depreciation, high insurance, etc make them unsuitable for a lot of families. How do you charge them if you live in a house with no drive? I believe that in Tokyo if you have no off street parking you are not allowed a vehicle. With the number of cars parked on the roads now I am beginning to wish that rule applied in U.K.

armsid Posted yesterday at 21:19 Author Report Share Posted yesterday at 21:19 German industrial labour laws could scupper the deal but if it goes through the cars will be expensive due to labour costs in Germany to those in China and i cannot see Chinese wage levels being paid in Germany or else where to keep the cars cheap for all to buy

Not to mention the fact you can’t run a BEV and an ICE down the same production line. Edited yesterday at 23:21 by Raja Clavata

I’m “working” with SODA.auto who got this Charge EV up and running. The video shows the Charge and SODA CEOs demo’ing EV torque vectoring.
