Yep democracy sucks. You are funny 😆 The democrats destroyed the credibility of the US legal system with their pursuit of Trump and wanton lawfare. Even now on Biden’s watch the convictions are being undone and the democrat puppet prosecutors professionally sanctioned. That’s the problem with the left; they dismiss the Trump landslide as all voters are thick racists because it’s convenient to do so and avoids looking in the mirror. Its going to be a great time to be an American right now.

Gordon R
Much as I deplored Russia's invasion of Ukraine, I believe Trump will engineer a settlement, albeit one that Zelensky won't like. oowee - I would be interested in your alternative peace plan. Well, no one needs the Yanks’ help with Ukraine - the States are a basket case after all 😆 It will fall to the beloved European Union to step up and sort out the problems right on its doorstep now. Oooh that’s going to be expensive. Macron can have his new European army if they can get that up and running in time after all the squabbling over who will pay for it, noting the Germans aren’t feeling that flush any more what with the imminent collapse of their once globally admired car industry and their economy entering recession. Europe is so done for; self inflicted of course. Oh and Angela Rayner’s 4 day week just announced today - that’ll help everything. 3 minutes ago, Gordon R said: Much as I deplored Russia's invasion of Ukraine, I believe Trump will engineer a settlement, albeit one that Zelensky won't like. oowee - I would be interested in your alternative peace plan. Can we keep out of the realms of fantasy, please? By now even ardent supporters of the war must know that an end has to come and no one is going to like it. It’s a meat grinder and Russian just has more bodies to waste. Hey, if the Yanks pull stumps there’s nothing to stop Europe picking up and carrying the baton though is there? 😆

I have no idea what project 2025 stands for other than a general change in direction from the institutions built by a majority liberal government? If that's all that's to it, it doesn't surprise me that Trump wants to change the direction of the USA and I'd say he has the mandate to do it. He hasn't been quite about what his intentions were if he got into power, as he now has! Or am I missing something?

Lets start with the $300bn we have in Europe spent on European defence with weapons sent to Ukraine. That should kill two birds with one stone. German poverty could be likened to that of your local farmer. Germany no one funder for Ukraine, at 0.1 of gdp. The cost of Ukrain loosing put at 20 times higher. The US going into isolation mode cannot work but Europe stepping spending money on its own produced weapons is not only possible, but overdue. 2 minutes ago, 12gauge82 said: I have no idea what project 2025 stands for other than a general change in direction from the institutions built by a majority liberal government? I would be genuinely surprised if Trump was involved in that. He strikes me as someone who can be a narcissist, blunt, offensive to anyone that disagrees with him, but genuinely not racist at all. I think the bloke is a complete **** being manipulated to save him dying in prison. That said I accept that I may have a minority view on the subject. 🤣 Project 2025 At its heart, it says, is the need to "restore the family" to the centre of US life, recommending that once a conservative president is inaugurated "Federal power must... be wielded to reverse the crisis and rescue America's kids from familial breakdown." The policy agenda includes criminalising pornography, disbanding the departments for education and homeland security and overhauling the FBI. It rejects the concept of abortion as healthcare and proposes the rollback of LGBTQ+ rights, ending climate projections and using the military to tackle large-scale protests. On immigration, the blueprint calls for the largest deportation in history, a policy for which Donald Trump has also expressed his support. The database of personnel willing to help deliver Project 25 would create a pool of politically-appointed civil servants, who would be trained via an online presidential academy. Honestly, apart from abortion, that sounds like a great plan. I wish him luck with it. Even a bit like fundamentalist Christianity / Islam. These things always great on paper but… Just now, oowee said: 🤣 Trump says Europe can do one so they will have no choice. And that’s what I’ve been saying about Europe all along - union until domestic interests prevail and then it’s over. Without the yanks in charge of nato the euro nations will squabble and arrange the deckchairs on the titanic. Europe in a malaise of green ideology, 4 days a week working, woke and leftist culture and ideology based on feelings mobilise to a war footing? Not a chance

The further you get into respecting everyone and everything the harder it gets to make a decision to move forward on anything. Unfortunately the likes of Trump and Johnson that seem able to capture the imagination of the people are the least able to deliver.

Vince Green
8 hours ago, oowee said: The US is a basket case Yes it really is. The US is 28.3 Trillion dollars in debt. Quite a slice of that is down to Trump's last term in office and his mismanagement of the economy and the covid crisis. To be fair though the Biden administration did absolutely nothing to reduce the debt. If Trump thinks he is going to bully China with threats of tarrifs he is so wrong. China is more than able to bring down the shutters and stop selling goods to the USA. It wouldn't hurt China anything like as much as it would damage the US They are stubborn enough to actually do it. Hundreds of American industries and businesses would grind to a halt and many would go bust. Shelves would be empty. USA really is that dependent on Chinese goods
