Not so.

China accounts for 29% of all US imports, and that’s mainly consumer electronics ie nothing earth shatteringly important.

29% of all US imports sounds significant but it’s not - USA GDP is comprised of but 15% of imports ie the USA imports very little compared to others.

The GDP of the UK attributable to imports is 34% ie more than twice that of the states.

29% of 15% is 4.35% and so Chinas hooks into the US economy is 5% in round numbers.

US mainstay trading partners in the number 1 and 2 slots are of course Canada and Mexico.

I haven’t bothered to look at how dependant the states is on China as an export market, assuming ‘not very dependant’.

Yes it really is.

The US is 28.3 Trillion dollars in debt. Quite a slice of that is down to Trump's last term in office and his mismanagement of the economy and the covid crisis.

To be fair though the Biden administration did absolutely nothing to reduce the debt.

If Trump thinks he is going to bully China with threats of tarrifs he is so wrong.

China is more than able to bring down the shutters and stop selling goods to the USA. It wouldn't hurt China anything like as much as it would damage the US

They are stubborn enough to actually do it. Hundreds of American industries and businesses would grind to a halt and many would go bust. Shelves would be empty.

USA really is that dependent on Chinese goods

China's economy sits on a knife edge, if it cannot export it suffers badly, it makes things cheap and sells them in bulk to make profits, if it can't sell it very quickly becomes a problem to them.

Trump has had one turn in the Whitehouse and now knows the ropes and I hope he doesn’t waste time.

It’s been predicted for forever that the US will become ‘isolationist’ which is a dramatic word that just means stopping spunking money all over the world in an attempt to obtain soft power and given that they never get much thanks for those efforts, just the bill.

There will be increased trade with Canada and Mexico (same land mass and cheap and easy) and if he drains the swamp there’s a chance of getting the national debt down.

Not great for the rest of an ungrateful world reliant on US support and highly critical at the same time, but pretty good for Americans, which is of course what the majority of Americans voted for.

You can keep your own fetus, of course everyone is entitled to their own views on such a subject. Fortunately the UK is a modern democracy and is driven more by science than beliefs.

Predictable.

What if the fascists were the ones in power these last 4 years?

Walks like a duck etc.

Interesting position for the UK with Tariffs on the Horizon and the UK looking very isolated.

Trade deal and take the Trump golden shower or throw our lot in with the EU. I would not want to tread that path.

''A global trade war will be hellish for the Starmer government, especially if it is forced to choose sides between the EU and the US. It has never looked more lonely to be Brexit Britain paddling about in the mid-Atlantic as Typhoon Orange masses on the horizon.''

Absolutely.
Trump has actually attained less overall votes this time, than in 2020.
The dems seem to have 'lost' the 15 million extra votes that put Biden in the WH in 2020 ?

Considering how hotly contested this election has been, and how desperate the left were to keep him out, lock him up ect, you would think dem voters would have got up out their graves and voted again for Kamala ?

Given the result, there are many questioning the legitimacy of 2020s vote.
The numbers dont really add up.

I heard it was 20 million missing votes.

They were. Scratch a liberal and beneath the surface you’ll find a fascist.

At least Trump will release university campuses from all the group think / wrong think gender nonsense and it is demonstrable nonsense.

Don’t worry Starmer and Lammy will have it all under control 😆

Europe is in a precarious position right now and there’s no plan or will for improvement - it’s imploding before our eyes. Indeed all eyes on Germany.

And so we have Trump in the Whitehouse, best friends with Farage and yet we elected a cabal of lefty morons - on any measure they are absolute midwits.

We’re screwed. But we knew that already 😆

Loving the Libtard meltdowns on social media.

The nose ring loving 4B movement is in full swing, or so it would appear!!! Crack on ladies (??).

It’s a joke - rather than look in the mirror the libtards are going with Kamala losing because of ‘fascists and misogynists’ - far easier to throw that nonsense around than have a proper look at their failings.

Cummins nailed it - long but worth a read.

The Insider class *did this to themselves* because of their extreme delusions & uselessness. Trump 16 (like Brexit) was impossible without this & so is his sequel. Their response to 2016 was to DOUBLE DOWN on delusions. Putin! Cambridge Analytica! Facebook ads! Over and over the 'mainstream' has herded to wrong/dumb models of the world. This doubling down helped us win in 2019. And after 2020 in US they returned to their 2016 script: Trump is a moron, haha, look at the moron and his moron supporters. And they embarked on a Far Left governing project - including destruction of southern border controls! - supported by the 'mainstream' across the West. I said in 2022

@elonmusk

et al were forming a new spectral elite network on Whatsapp because the DEMs & 'mainstream' media had gone mental. The 'mainstream' couldn't understand what was happening & why. In April 2023 I published an election model with these results. - Trump beats Biden by 294-244. - Trump beats KAMALA by MORE — 321-227. I published analysis of focus groups, why swing voters thought Kamala a TERRIBLE candidate, the crucial 'double haters', the crucial importance of the cost of living crisis which, like immigration in 2015, was the first and main thing mentioned in groups for 2 years - a basic fact still unabsorbed by the MSM.

@Peston

tweeted my blog. And the SW1 NPC ecosystem lost their minds & gabbled 'THIS IS FAKE NEWS, TRUMP IS FINISHED, NO MEDIA SHD COVER IT!' Look through the comments to understand how the graduate NPC class are programmed to *delude themselves* and crush signals that might help them be less deluded. Scrolling through some of the responses, a favourite is from

@samfr

who reinvented himself, ludicrously, as a guru on polling and communication - classic SW1 to take seriously on this stuff someone who nobody sane wd put in charge of anything to do with 'strategy' and 'communications'. His response was, inevitably, pitched perfectly to the mood of very online Insiders. And totally delusional. Roughly ALL my NPC list herded over the past few years to: ELON DOESN'T UNDERSTAND RUNNING TECH COMPANIES! While the guy was catching *skycrapers falling from orbit with chopsticks*!!! This was a big clue that *the same people* interpreting polls for you are totally clueless on their day jobs and herd to stupid ideas! Why would managing SpaceX be something political hacks think they're competent to opine on?! But it became the high status Insider view! Elon doesn't understand tech companies - but I [whove built nothing ever] do!! These people spent the last few weeks laughing at Elon's involvement in politics. The DC/SW1 media will now flood the zone with bull**** about the campaign. They're all over TV 'explaining' something they've said for 3 years couldn't happen. If you took any of it seriously, use this episode to sever all mental links to trusting 'mainstream' political journalism & accept it is systemically knackered because of the people & incentives. If you subscribed to my blog, you'd be one of the very few NOT shocked today! https://dominiccummings.substack.com/p/6-regime-change-new-data-shows-trump I explained a few days ago why i thought the polls were likely to be another ****show - and they haven't disappointed. Like 'communication', it's an industry dominated by charlatans who use politics for marketing but don't invest in trying to do it properly. But the media doesn't explain this either. https://dominiccummings.substack.com/i/150207370/snippets-since-october Now? The 'mainstream' will mostly double down again: there's just millions more fascists than we realised! Don't blame us, blame the voters! White Americans are really racist! When we win again we need MORE CENSORSHIP to defend against FASCISM! This is the acceptable view in SW1 & DC/NYC - the 2024 equivalent to 'Leave/Trump won because of racism' which was the acceptable view in 2016. The critical thing now? Is there a critical mass of people like

@elonmusk

@pmarca

@JTLonsdale

et al who go to DC and *DO regime change* - i.e, as FDR did in the 30s, CLOSE a bunch of stuff and OPEN a bunch of startups to do government much better, with *a new legal basis*...? Do we escape the cycle of dumb wars that the old regimes inevitably botch, as they have totally botched UKR? The GOP with the help of the dissident Valley network - which represents *the people in America who can BUILD BUILD BUILD* - has the chance to reshape DC and America and the political landscape more than anybody has since FDR. Let's hope they do it and help provide an intellectual prod to UK but, more importantly, the *example of moral courage* that we need to a/ replace the rotten parties and b/ replace the corrupt useless civil service system of the 1850s, a fake meritocracy with fake responsibility that now manages everything for themselves, not the voters/taxpayers - so British people can escape the ****show SW1 is, for now, united in continuing... We'll find out fast because the only way regime change can work is blitzkrieg in 2025 from the first days of the new regime. Purges. Closures. Startups. Lawyers. Building new valuable things that work. With Elon asking everybody - what did you get done this week? Fingers crossed...

Trump appoints Pete Hesgeth Fox News morning tv host as Sec of Defence ( 3 million employees and a budget bigger than most countries one of the most important jobs in the world) .

''The war in Ukraine is important but it pails into insignificance compared to the war on wokeness''

🤣 Drain that swamp.

I see that it was confirmed (it's been predicted for a few days) that the Republicans have got a majority in both the Senate and House of Representatives - which in effect gives Trump almost unlimited control as the Supreme Court is also Republican dominated.

"Republicans now control the legislative, executive, and the judicial branches of the federal government fully during Trump's first years in office, giving him sweeping control."

Effective checks and balances are removed. Add to which he is refusing to sign the Transition ethics code. Appointing Musk is clearly a conflict of interest.

What a twisted piece of work he is.
