enfieldspares
I didn't think that the smell was anything worse than any pheasant. That there is a foul smell in your fowl suggests something is wrong.
Sweet11-87
nowt beats rabbits. Rather do a gut shot deer than a headshot rabbit

marsh man
I always do mine in a bowl of water , very little smell and then leave it on the draining top to dry out , all sorted , the ops mate might had let it hang to long in mild weather , they are no worse than any other feathered birds . London Best
I never hang duck or geese. If a pellet has penetrated the guts I find they smell worse than pheasants in a similar condition. I have a friend, a professional deer man for nearly fifty years. He will not draw any birds and runs a mile at the mention of gutting a rabbit. Strange.
