Penelope
Jonah!!! At least the Humpback spat him out. https://news.sky.com/story/kayaker-survives-being-swallowed-by-humpback-whale-in-chile-13308753
tobiasthedog
I saw the whale one I was surprised he survived. Can't have been a fun 10 seconds for everyone involved. But I guess not many people can claim to have had the Jonah experience of being swallowed and spat out by a humpback. At least they weren't orcas. JKD
Along a similar theme, this guy has seen and filmed some amazing sea wildlife 😃 https://thelonekayaker.wordpress.com/
wymberley
Think I'm going to stay on the beach. Never mind a great white, getting swallowed by a humpback whale (BBC News) would render me a gibbering wreck for life.
Minky
Inconsistencies... I thought that it was female but then changed my mind. There were loads of sizable fish to catch. ...,,live bait..!!,. what size of fish was he/it trying to catch,? He was in a kayak. Was there a real shark in the water.? Was the shark a real shark or a dummy shark following, being towed along. It seemed to be keeping constant distance. I would have been paddling to the shore..... He said that if he did that, that supposed shark MIGHT THINK THAT HE WAS A SEAL. Wouldn't the shark just take him wherever if that was the case. I think that this is a setup for YouTube. If not the kayak would be up for sale. I'm not that keen on going in the bath let alone going in a kayak in the sea with sharks. When we went to Mauritius there were fishing trips that they tried to sell me. One stall/shop had a gantry with half a whale hooked up on it. this looked like someone had attacked it with a chainsaw. They said that a shark had been feeding on it The boats were like a small cabin cruiser and I asked how far they went out. Oh just out past the breakers..??? Which were like Hawai 5/0 style. NAHH. I'LL GET MY FISH AND CHIPS FROM THE CHIPPIE THANKS VERY MUTCH.
oldypigeonpopper
Hello, There was a news report showing a Whale catching a man then spitting him out !! ?? He was very lucky !!!!
Minky
Is this some sort of fake video inconsistenses . Is it a female or a male,? It is catching fish which are a good size. Plenty to catch, so why looking for LIVE BAIT,.? Anything that would take bait of that size would sink the boat. Is that a fake shark,? It seems to be following the kayak at a constant distance. Why not head to the safety of the shore.? The paddler says that the shark might think that it is a seal. So why doesn't the shark just attack anyway. But the video doesn't show how landfall was made. I think that it is all set up for a hoax vid clip. Click bait. If the person caught that shark what is it to do with it. The kayak would probably be towed out to sea, a long way out to sea for lunch. Edit I've watched that clip several times and by the way that supposed shark moves.. it's fake Edited February 14 by Minky
Houseplant
Hey Minky, all genuine and believable as far as I'm concerned. I've seen and dived with sharks up close and see nothing fishy here. If you watch some of his older videos, you will see the kind of things he does and the fish he catches. In the world of AI, it's sensible to be sceptical of everything you see now, but don't think that's an issue here. That said, I could imagine the lad putting himself in the position where this was going to happen. If the goal was to make a viral video, then he succeeded. He's appeared on news channels all over the world.
Houseplant
My other thought was this was setup and he had a "support" boat in the background, but you get a good 360 degree view of the surroundings from his various cameras and no sign of a boat. JKD
I thought this was a set-up when I watched it on Tuesday, but waited for anyone else to see that also before I made a comment 😅 Very 'odd' behaviour from that 'great white', following that kayak as Minky described above 🤔 Seemed more of an advert for the kayak manufacturers by a drama queen,,,, IMHO 🤓

Houseplant
Regarding the shark behaviour, I have seen game fish, mainly marlin, but also tuna and mako sharks swim sedately behind right trolled lures for long periods of time. This guy was effectively one big plastic trolling lure!
