I'm an anti!

Yep, that's right - I'm anti all the dogooding PC brigade including many of our masters in parliament (notable exception Kate Hoey)who are doing all they can to dismantle the country way of life all right minded country dwellers hold dear.

Having consigned traditional hunting with hounds and the Waterloo Cup to history where will they be looking next?

It could be the fishing community will be in the firing line or could it be that our own activities could at least be subject to some restrictions for starters.

So be vigilant and watch out for the next step on the road to totally destroying traditional country life and be ready to stand up for your interests.

From Wikipedia:

The Waterloo Cup was the biggest annual hare coursing event in the United Kingdom and was often referred to by its supporters as the blue riband event of the coursing year.[1] A hare coursing event of identical name was held in Australia from 1868 to 1985, at which point it became a lure coursing event.[2]

Run as a knock-out tournament between sixty four coursing greyhounds from Great Britain and Ireland, supporters described it as the ultimate test of a greyhound but opponents of hare coursing, such as the League Against Cruel Sports, saw it as a celebration of cruelty. The three day event was run annually at Great Altcar in Lancashire, England from 1836 to 2005 and used to attract tens of thousands of spectators to watch and gamble on the coursing matches.

The 2005 event, held on February 14-16, was eventually won by a dog called Shashi, bred by Ernest Smith, and owned by him with Albert Shackcloth and Michael Darnell. Trained at Malton, North Yorkshire by the Teals, the winner beat Hardy Admiral, owned by Diana Williams, in the final.

The Hunting Act 2004 which came into force just after the 2005 cup made hare coursing events illegal in England and Wales, and the Waterloo Cup has not taken place since.

Doesn't say it was cruel just that LACS though it was, which as we know means nothing . .

A sense of reality is needed, I seriusly doubt any goverment would even atempt to ban fishing or shooting and theres no real clamour for it unlike fox hunting were it was on the cards for it for a long time.

As for the waterloo cup, Its gone and is unlikely to be brought back end of. Do we really need another debate on coursing or fox hunting, everyones got thier own viewe and its been done to death b4.

That sort of 'I'm alright Jack' complacency will end up getting our sports banned. They will chip away at them bit by bit until there is nothing left. Hunting with dogs was the first step and if we do not fiercely appose this then shooting, fishing and other legitimate country sports will be next. Not to mention things like snaring and of course ferreting... not that I would stop.

You are quite correct and no truer words have been spoken. The LACS have already stated that shooting is on their agenda and the anti brigade are already targeting pheasant shooting, who's to say pigeons and foxes won't be next, because I guarantee they will be. We MUST stand together to oppose their crackpot ideas.
