He explained that although not against the law he need too enquiry why?:(

On expalining that i purchased a few of various Qualitys and then sold on when i upgrade there wasent a issue.

Oh please,

As if the local firearms department haven't got better things to do than look at ebay to see who is selling what.

I could believe if he asked why you had been stopped for speeding 8 times in the last year but not what you have sold on ebay.

I am constantly under surveillance and I can guarantee that "they" are physic as well, I only have to think shooting and my wife finds something that needs my urgent attention.

I find that wrapping your head in tin foil helps with that,

Oh please, If the governments of the USA and GB can monitor all the mobile phone traffic in the world with the NSA supercomputer and GCHQ, what makes you think anything you write on an open forum on the web will be unmonitored, especially if it involves items that terrorists might like to purchase? Or are you niave enough to think that they do not?

I am not naive at all, and I don't doubt that MI5 and 6 monitor all kinds of communication. But as for watching ebay to see if Mrs Doubtfire is selling off her china is a little bit 1984.

I do find you just a little bit ridiculous if you believe the mohammed and his extremist mates have a paypal account and are buying their stores from Ebay.

Just remeber to wrap a wet tea towel around your head in case they manage to track your brain, on second thoughts don't bother.

Terrorists bought nitram from a garden centre for the July bombings in London the other year, why not buy over the internet. It is well known that "E-traffic" increases when our fanatical friends are near to a "spectacular", do you think they only use the net for talking to their aunties?.

I may well be ridiculous, and for many other reasons, but not for believing in the advanced monitoring technology that is now possessed by governments. If you doubt me, I suggest you start reading slightly more widely than would seem to be the case now.

PS Ok, i haven't bothered with the towel, would you like to borrow it, or do you prefer to keep with the head in the sand approach?

Try this link, it's one of many; http://www.wired.com/threatlevel/2009/03/wireds-top-inte/

There are many more in the technical journals that are equally, if not more alarming.

who wrote that and where did they get their information from? my point being that in reality, we dont know what the hell is going on and unless you are in the security services, you'll never really know.

I must say though, that site took a while to load - is it because the 5-0 are watching it, and me?

J@mes, the mans name is there on the bottom of the headline banner, and if you follow the links you will see that President Obama is siding with George Bush's administration in a court case about this very item, seeking to stop the prosecution of IT companies that funnel information to the government. You get to know about it over in the USA because they have a Freedom of Information Act, we don't. The court transcripts are there for you to read, if you want to.

This seems a little weird to me. Why would the police need to know about the sale of legal items?

I have no doubt we are being watched though. I do nothing wrong so I'm not all that bothered. If I say my FEO is a dipstick and he reads it then it will be because he's done something silly. If I'm happy with them I will say, if they p*** me off then I'll say that too. It's not illegal and I'm not a threatening character, so what's the problem? When I said the guy who did my land visit was a numpty I meant it. If he reads the guidelines he will see that it's not illegal to shoot over a footpath so why did he tell me it was? To make matters worse it wasn't a marked path, more a trespassers route!

If they see the porn I've been looking at then so what? I'll just have a good idea why the next FEO will be late for our appointment

I think what you are thinking of is the Echelon word list.

Perhaps your FEO knows your forum identity and looked up your threads?

I know my FEO knows my forum names and I think I recently got that fact to work in my favour when some other members wrote things a shooter can't really suggest about his own FEO if he wants to keep his ticket sweet.
