Medical certificate. How long, and how much £££??
discobob replied to Torbruk's topic in General Shooting Matters
Not in BASC - it’s funny in a way. But one of the Doctors daughter and son-in-law work there - and he does a little bit of shooting himself. I asked can’t he do it - response - “he doesn’t do private” you don’t want to here about the puliver to make an appointment- got to send photos etc - before you even know if they will deem to see you. I wonder what this lack of face to face will cause to be missed?? But that is a discussion for another section of the forum- 64 replies

Yes, I rebuilt a 300 during lockdown. I ordered trigger mechanism spares and springs from OMPS 2 website, in Italy. Prices were very reasonable then, but I don't know if they have been affected by Brexit ? I would suggest that probably the only spares you will likely need are recoil and magazine springs.

Winchester & Aguila Rimfire Ammunition Importer
Dekers replied to Dekers's topic in Bullets, Cartridges and Reloading
I'm Secretary of a rifle Club at Bisley and we discussed ammo etc for the club as well, he even said he went there a lot himself. The Club FAC lists 5000 rounds of EACH of the assorted centrefire and rimfire ammo the club uses, so potential of a LOT more than a box of .22lr!!! 👍 -

IF, you have to buy new, can I recommend you buy an Isis pad. I have one on my sub 8lbs Sporter and do not feel any recoil at all. I have given away th 2 Kick-eeze pads that I had. I thought they caused the gun to bounce in my shoulder, often causing the stock to bruise my upper arm. That has now stopped with the same thickness Isis pad.

There were four candidates in S Wales and I wrote to all of them directly or through their office. No reply from Labour or Conservative. I had a reply from the Lib Dem, but it was more of a gesture rather than a reply. Plaid Cymru gave a detailed account of what he would do and took some time on it. He had my vote.

Medical certificate. How long, and how much £££??
JohnfromUK replied to Torbruk's topic in General Shooting Matters
I used the Dr surgery - but mine was 'only' £50. They were very quick though (2 days). As far as I know the BASC offer a service to members for (I think) a bit over £50(?) where their medical man contacts your practice. It was to cover some Dr's who refused to do the forms mainly I think. Contact BASC for up to date details if you are a member. I presume the other shooting organisations do something similar.- 64 replies

Medical certificate. How long, and how much £££??
GHE replied to Torbruk's topic in General Shooting Matters
Medcert of similar, basically they are medical doctors who will contact your own GP and (with your written authority) will require your doctor to provide them with the info. They then analyse the info and provide you with the paperwork you need. Usually very quick, efficient and around £60, and the best thing about it is that your own doctor gets what they deserve - nothing.- 64 replies
