  1. sounds like you friends been playing in the fields with bulls. as already said, worm the dog as to what it says on the box and regularly, then stop worrying. I use dontal+ and i buy it from the game fair for about 70p a tablet as they always have deals on. pet meds online i remember rightly.
  2. sound like you all need a dog aswell and it needs the name of 'lane' :yp: :yp:
  3. nice idea but its hard work on you and the dogs as they get confused and in the heat of battle you use the wrong whistle and cant work out why dogs not listening. far easier to use one whistle on the dog. teach them all the recall and stop so when your panicking about the dogs going on a road or wrecking a drive, you dont have to worry about what whistle where. Im changing one of my dogs off the 210.5 onto the silent whistle as it is to confusing for the other one as well. if im picking up as a sweep then i let the dogs hunt with no input from me, if im sending for a single bird then its a single dog job. if hunting up the hedges then i use one dog at a time. when pigeon shooting i use one dog for a pricked bird and then both when it comes to tidying up the area. all will work on the one whistle as im confused enough with out having to remember what whistle to what dog.
  4. pistol Please Lone Wolf. Send me payment details please. thanks Phil.
  5. opps! sounds like someone just walked into that one. have a good un gent's, i hear fresh bar-b-que pigeon is good, well it would be rude not to take the grill if someone has offered to carry your gear.
  6. Thanks guys for your kind words. This winter has been the best we have ever had, ok we have had the odd 10 bird with birds that just will not come play but on a hole its been 100+ every time. what we are now noticing is that the places that shot well and now empty of birds or will not decoy and that places that the birds didnt play over winter are now starting to come. with luck we might do a very big bag on one place. 2 little rape fields in a sea of wheat. i say we but its an old gentleman that can't carry kit, we shoot from the same hide so all he needs is gun and carts, i try to do the rest and then we take turns from the same hide so its the same as one person shooting i guess. ATB Phil.
  7. dont ask for a SAK MODERATOR, ask for a SAK SILENCER for and air gun. there the same thing, ok some have a test mark on them but i bet not many.
  8. THOUSAND OMG!! i got excited when i saw a hundred take up.lol
  9. Not a big bag compared to some of the guns on here but still a good few hours. finished with 80 birds picked and 4 lost but the best bit was that just about all were screamers that came for a look but just wouldn't decoy, i think the beating they took over the winter has put them off a bit. love shooting the hard days and coming out with a fair bag as it gets very boring taking 100+ every time. haha. I waant going to take a pick but i put them at the back of the truck to cool a little more before loading so thought what the hell.
  10. cherries, we see them on the trees around here stripping them
  11. stainless steel soap stone removes all the smells, onion, garlic, rabbit, fish, been using one for 20 years.
  12. As cranfield says, good until the 2nd leaf and then on harvest. other that that just enjoy the blue flower.lol
  13. i bet if you cut it out you will find an air gun pellet
  14. dont worry to much about the morning feed as some dogs just dont want it. my two cockers both stopped eating their morning feed, my first one i was worried about so i kept chopping and changing, in the end i was wasting my money and time because by the time the bag was half empty he stuck his nose up to it. the other is only 1 but will not eat a morning feed now so i dont worry about it. i now feed one meal a day but top them up with bits if they have had a hard days work.
  15. move the lamp back on the scope. your getting the glare from the mod so moving the lamp to the back of the scope will give you the shadow, a flip up front scope cover will also add to the shadow. failing that, mount the lamp under the rifle.
  16. Clean any muck off the bead but do not polish it as your better off with a little roughness to get a good seal. take it to someone that knows what their doing, if need be they can put a liquid rubber type paint on the bead just before fitting the tyre. I over polished a set for rims on a little Cleo and couldn't get an airtight fit so had to scab it up again.lol
  17. Top job there, good on you to offer shooting. pity more, with the land, do not offer. Dave-g has the right idea i think, dont sell to one person, sell as a package. £100 per day for up to 4 people. that way your clients have the choice if they wish to come alone or as a group of mates. you could take contact details for the single shooter and then when you have enough for a day then pull them together. Phil
  18. I reload because i listened to NJC110381, only joking, he has been a great help to myself and others in the reloading. I started to reload because, as someone already mentioned, I was struggling to get consistency on ammo, every time i went in to buy one type i came out with a differant one. always bought my max allowance but then i found, to my own cost, that not all barrels like factory ammo and i was stuck with ****. I will try and get a few photos of how i reload and how the rounds group as people seam to disbelieve the results that can be had for relatively small outlay. either that or they are gutted that they have been had by the SALESMAN in the shop that told them that they NEED the latest kit to get tighter groups. salesman and/or advertising campaign do the desired job me thinks saving money was another plus for me and yes i should be saving money but i think its a false economy as i just go out shooting more rounds, i find it almost as cheap to shoot 222 at rabbits as it is to shoot hmr. i am about to change from one type over to V-max and that in its self will save 6p a click, if it shoots as well as that is. I had a primer pop on me last week for the very first time, i was just thinking at the time that it hadn't happened yet, talk about talking it up. it was a small rifle primer and in truth i didnt really know it had happened until i smelt it.
  19. My God! FAC air did that??? didnt think it would kill a tyre that well. looks like when it blow up it took some magpies out as well. :yp:
  20. was that the article written by Richard Brigham, in Sporting Gun. I read this as well and thought that it wasnt good. in one of the photos you have a pile of rooks and a 22 CZ laid upon them. i cant remember if he stated it was a rimmie or just a silenced .22 but the photo was definitely a CZ rimmie. never good shooting into tree whether your above or below as below you have no back stop and above you dont know who is in the woods. bit like shooting a deer thats up against a hedge, you never know who is there. Phil
  21. £25 on each end is about the norm but, there is a new courier company they will collect a gun from the seller and take it to the buyer. the buyer first send the money to the courier service. once he has the gun and all is as stated then the money is released to the seller. maybe your RFD is using this service. only a thought.
  22. D' she is coming on ok. very very biddable but slow to learn, not a bad thing and once she has it then it stays in the head. one down side is she gets very excited and squeaks so i have to watch and now wind her up. i dont think she will be any good in the hide though so not sure on final direction with her yet. Mungler. i had some one take the photos for me i will ask how. as it was all taken on a white back and base the photoshopped
