i dont like stooting standing crop and i will not use a dog on barley. not fair on the dog. If i do have to shoot standing crop i will try and shoot the birds so they drop in the open. if they land in the standing crop then i will leave then where they fall as it is a control exercise and not for sport. if i can get away with not shooting then thats what i would rather do.

I had one and sold it as wouldnt take dead birds. I bought a pinewood and and put hyper flaps on it if i have no dead birds but i find the hyper flapper do not work as well as the real bird. the pigeons tend to fly for a look but no more than that. only time i have good times was on harvest. save your money and buy a light weight pinewood. it will do the same but with added extra of being able to take deads.

Im just having it lucky at the moment i think the tides will change.

Shhhh! keep the secret.haha. All my better barbs have been out on Lobs. BIG feeder with Salmon pellet and chopped worm. Big lob on size 7, long hair and feed hair up 3cm of worm and a good hair stop. i like 12" of fluorocarbon for hook link. I have taken upto 20 barbs in one session all over 9lb. big bream and chub also coming out. fishing 1 hour before dark and upto about midnight. gutted as the stretch of wye we use to fish has just been sold. so no more good times there.

i think what Neil should say is he 'would' give more away 'if' he could pick up whats left.lmao. how much is taylor's paying Dave? i get £2.50 in winter but only £1 in summer as butcher will not take them until 1st Sept. no room in freezer to store them this time of year as it fills up to fast with pigeons. the last few years i have taken a lot of pigeon shooters out on land but after I had a similar thing last year after taking pigeon shooters out. the farmer was a bit suspicious so he phoned to ask about a lad saying i said to ask farmer if he could shoot the land. hence the reason i will not take anyone out anymore. im very reluctant now to take people out. i only take those that i have got to known and trust.

I on;y deep clean my 2 when i start getting soft strikes. i just put the small parts in the ultrasonic. water/vinegar/fairy take out and spray with WD40 then blow off with compressed air, a light oil on moving parts. quick clean on the bore and a scrub if needed. wipe over with damp cloth and then an oil cloth.

If its bright with sun in face then Yes If dark, under shade with no sun on you then No I dont use one any more but i sometimes think i might do better with on as i do get jinky birds that are seeing something wrong.

I think i have some dices up Pheasant in the freezer as well. about 5 birds worth I might be able to go sort a few rabbits as well as harvest will be started by then so can get on fields again. One person is trying to like the taste of rabbit but needs help. sausages didnt turn out to well im told. what date do you need the bits by Nick. i need to pop over to fairford game deal to get my money and drop birds of to another dealer in bibury. all the best Phil.

another good bag of bird on the forum. numbers should start to come now the fields are being cut. well done.

game dealers will take them for £1 in there coat but need head shot or ferreted and gutted. my butcher will pay £2.50 ea but only winter. will not take in summer so i dont shoot them unless i have too.

Onlt problem i have is i will not be eating much. cant eat gluten, lactose and a hole host of other things so i will just be along for the chat. Phil.
