  7. Good post A good friend of ours was a ward assistant on a maternity ward at a South London hospital . She was moved to help on the death ward. (Thats what they call it). Yesterday she was washing and bantering with two women in their 40s both very ill but alert enough for a conversation. Today both are dead, Our friend is giving in her notice tomorrow at her husband's insistence. This is not what she signed up for
  8. The Coronavirus Act 2020 gives Boris the emergency powers to make what ever rules/laws he wants. If he is deferring to Parliament its only a gesture to have it rubber stamped
  9. Start with the 12 and the lee loadall. Start with regular loads to get to grips with it all. Build on your experience as you go.
  10. Oh dear! Is that really your idea of a constructive reply to the question? thats a bit embarrassing don't you think? Do I own shares in Andrex? what a strange question. Or is it just a deflection? Actually, I probably do, Andrex is owned by Kimberly Clark and I'm sure I will own shares in them somewhere in my portfolio
  11. Exactly what is this thing you call "personal liberty" that you seem to hold so dear but continually fail to explain to the rest of us? Drop the tired cliches and "left speak" and shock us all with actual examples. All we are getting from you at the moment sounds like something from a recycled speech by Jeremy Corbyn. blah blah blah personal liberty blah blah There is a virus out there that doesn't give a f-f -f about personal liberty, in fact it doesn' a FFF about anything or anybody
  12. Define democracy? In a democracy we inplicitly all agree to abide by the rules imposed by our elected government. A democracy is not about everybody being able to make up their own rules as they go along Thats anarchy When Parliament passed the Coronavirus Act 2020 it gave the Government emergency powers. So its all perfectly legal and democratic
  13. Whenever I went on a long haul flight before all this I quite often developed a cold shortly after. Planes are super spreaders
  14. There are websites that tell you how to steal from supermarkets, obviously I am not going to flag them up on here but as this is an article in a National newspaper it gives you a feel for the subject. Nation of shoplifters: the rise of supermarket self-checkout scams | Crime | The Guardian

  16. He was Brian Epstein's preferred singer/ group over the Beatles in the early days. He had the sense to get out when the going was still good and he was on a high Settled down on the Wirral, kept his family close and had a good life if marred by heart problems in recent years
  17. That I believe is in the latest T&C for facebook but it most likely means that they can take them down or delete them as they see fit.
  18. You just copy the image of the screen, anybody can download any image There has been a lot of discussion recently on landlord forums about scammers setting up fake holiday cottages on AirBnB using pictures they copy off estate agents websites like Zoopla or Rightmove. People then book about this time of year for the summer and of course have to pay up front. When they turn up with their suitcases they find the cottage either doesn't exist or there is somebody living there that knows nothing about it. Needless to say the scammers have deleted their account and disappeared with the money by then. The same is done with cars for sale
  19. We saw something similar in B&M St Austell. When you go in you have to turn to the left and pass down an aisle of food products before it opens out into the rest of the shop. A bloke walked in with a rucksack, shoves half a dozen big jars of coffee into the rucksack and was back out the way he came in. There was nobody there to stop him going straight back out.
  20. Yes but the change in the tax laws have really eaten into the profits
  21. I must admit it does seem a bit random
  22. I think Boris did a good job all things considered.
  23. Both my stepdaughter and my niece are midwives, both were very lucky to get places on their courses, The competition was fierce, many more suitably qualified applicants chasing a small number of places. Far fewer places than the country needs to replace natural wastage each year. And the entry level requirements were practically the same as would be required to enrol at medical school But anybody who thinks the NHS is underfunded needs to go and live in America where probably 50% of the whole population has little or only very limited access to medical services and none of it up to NHS standard.
