The problem with lighter bullets and therefore higher velocities is that many rifles get a bit fussy about what they like. Great if you find a load you get on well with provided there is a continuity in the supply. That often is the problem. Less popular bullet weights will always be harder to find because dealers only want to keep the stuff that moves quickly.

Does a renewal mean basically a new application?
Vince Green replied to RockySpears's topic in General Shooting Matters
They don't bring the new one here, it arrives in the post. Not even to be signed for which strikes me as ridiculous -
I do wonder about you, i suppose you don't look left and right when crossing the road because its only advice and not law First two words........ Avoid travelling,....... any fool should be able to understand what that means but you point out the lack of the word 'must' Surely the intended meaning is clear enough?

I've always had to send my old certificate off, they like to check your ammo usage and don't like old certificates still being in circulation. I always photocopy everything before I send it off. I have kept all the copies from the last few renewals too, just in case. At least its only every five years now, it used to be three -
New York State prosecutors haven't wasted any time. The very minute after Biden was formally confirmed as President they gave Trump till Friday to hand over his tax records. They are obviously on the scent of something, they wouldn't have moved so decisively and publicly if they weren't sure of their evidence. Their careers are on the line if they screw it up White House to Big House for Trump? maybe the best bits are yet to come?

I think he is barking mad. Step back and examine the facts, this man was PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES when he should have been in some secure facility for those with little grasp on reality. History will be the judge

Do you remember the teachers had elbow patches on their jackets?

I remember them very well, the animal prints wore off in about a week and the compass was something you would get in a Christmas Cracker but very aspirational at the time, all the boys wanted them. Funnily enough years later we were at the Isle of Man TTs and we had climbed onto the roof of a concrete pill box like building to get a better view. When it was time to get off my mate jumped and landed quite hard. Straight away he said "Damm I bet that broke the Compass" Everybody laughed, they all got the joke

My friend, who lives in France, always makes a point of giving a rabbit to the OAPs in his village when he has a surplus (on a sort of rota basis) Plus any other neighbour he happens to meet on his way home Which is most times he goes shooting. That simple act of charity has had an incredibly positive effect on his becoming an accepted member of the community in which he lives when other British are seen as aloof and distant. I can't see my neighbours here being so impressed if I presented them with a dead rabbit. They would probably report me to the RSPCA

The Americans tend to be fed the marketing hype that more expansion is always better in every situation, Hence their love of V Max etc because they believe the advertising and pay more to get it. However, in a lot of their hunting situations its not justified because a lot of deer are shot using .223 over there The Europeans (including PPU) take a more pragmatic view and favour a controlled expansion combined with penetration.

Its a little known fact that when a car is a total loss the insurance company has to pay you the agreed value as stated on the policy. That is the contractual terms of the agreement. They charged you a premium based on that agreed value and a contract was made. None of this "well the book value is only £xxxx " malarkey. Thats just them trying to flim flam you and most times they get away with it because people generally don't know any better. We had quite a few vehicles that were a total loss when we ran vehicles on the company, We always got the full value after a fight The same when my mother's Micra was written off by somebody who ran in the back, the bloke on the other end of the phone tried everything he could to knock us down

We only ever had a goose once for Christmas, it was many years ago. It wasn't a success really. I think we cooked it wrongly. Best to have at least a practice and freeze the meat if its OK to complement the turkey on the day

I don't think you are going to get it are you? Who is encouraging us to support the hospitality sector and the arts? Absolutely nobody , except of course, the hospitality sector and the arts themselves, but thats hardly a justification, they just want our money, they don't care if somebody dies in the process.

No I think you are a mug if you can't see that going up to London for two restaurant meals on two separate occasions and taking in a pantomime at the London Palladium is unnecessary behaviour at the present time. Then using the excuses that its keeping the economy going is clutching at straws. It shows to me you know its wrong. What part of "unless its absolutely necessary" do you have trouble with?
-
Yes and proud of it, but you are wrong, the pandemic is the reason not me. I don't kill people, the virus kills people and idiots spread it
-
Its not me thats trying to score points

Have they really? I don't think so, they have been doing their level best to bring order to all this chaos. And doing a pretty good job too over all. But you are obviously cleverer than them . Or think you are..................... Have you ever thought it might just be you who is making it up as you go along?
-
Its people like you that are part of the problem, necessary ? NO, Avoidable? YES
-
This ^^^^^^^ Its not complicated, its very very simple really. The one thing about this pandemic is that everybody now knows about how viruses are transmitted. In a way that we never appreciated about colds and flu although it was much the same story. You could almost say we are experts. So there should be no excuses, an average of 400 plus people a day are dying, Every one of them caught it somewhere somehow n

Nothing to see here, move along. No, no fraud at all in US election.

Trump is his own worst enemy. He is clearly delusional and living in a fantasy world -
Judging by the scenes in the shopping centres I am not really surprised there is a spike in London

Its often the case in divorces that claims are made by the wife to shift the goalposts. Nothing to do with guns but just general allegations to muddy the water out of vindictiveness. The trouble is once they are made there is no going back

I would like to know what happened to all the money donated to the Snowdrop Campaign after Dunblane.

It turns out that she was grassed up by her own work colleagues who tipped off the paparazzi that she was planning to break the lockdown rules and where she was going to be and when. Looks like she was not popular stitched up good and proper
