  1. The Fountain in Mevagissy is like that, perfectly run and always full. We are happy to go there, and we do Many others locally I could name too are being well run, I see no advantage in closing the good ones at 10pm. Nothing changes at 10.01pm The same with the restaurants, there are several well run restaurants in Charlestown that we go to, why should they have to close at 10pm? But not all pubs are well run, another pub I know of in Cornwall (which I won't name but I should) the locals, farmers and fishermen, are all standing up at the bar drinking and chattering like there is nothing going on in the world outside. The problem is, nothing is being done about those bad pubs, They are just getting away it and spoiling it for the rest.
  2. Ah but they are Labour MPs so thats allowed The key point is that people very rarely break just one rule while adhering strictly to all the others.
  3. A mate of mine in Wales made the comment that they shouldn't be looking at the pubs so much as the Social Clubs.
  4. https://news.sky.com/story/coronavirus-large-crowd-dispersed-from-liverpool-city-centre-two-hours-before-tough-tier-3-restrictions-begin-12103642 People down South think Northerners are thick, they don't think it anymore
  5. When i was in America they would put out blocks of salt. called a salt lick. It was a deer magnet Part of the reason they don't salt the roads over there was deer would come onto the roads to lick it off and it caused accidents. Deer on the roads in winter was a big problem at the best of times because the roads were warmer than the surrounding fields.
  6. Up to about 8 years ago when we moved from the house mine was in the shed at the bottom of the garden. Thats where they told me to put it about 20 odd years ago. In those days (don't know about now) it was nothing to do with security, 100% to do with fire risk Are you a member of MLAGB? if so talk to Andrew
  7. Not at all, self isolating reduces the risk, I don't think anybody can doubt that but there are still groceries and post coming into the house that could bring infection. Its a percentages thing.
  8. Part of the trouble I believe is that people who have done something they shouldn't have are reluctant to admit it to track and trace afterwards. So the real cause of the infection and the real contacts go unrecorded
  9. Its the same on rifle ranges, people leave their fired cases on the ground.

    New drive

In our borough any new drive now has to be permeable, so only block paving is allowed. Check on your local planning regs
  11. Its not about who dies, in a sense they are cost neutral. Its the ones who dont die that are taking up resources once the hospital is full all the other treatments stop for things like heart disease, cancer etc
  12. You are not talking about comparing like with like, my good friend "E" is a senior manager in a London hospital. Her hospital is filling up rapidly and its political, capacity v resources. She says another week or so and it S hits Fan time. Hospital capacity is almost as fragile as egg shells. Then difficult decisions become who lives and who dies. Once doctors reach that stage they become judge and jury The original concept of Triage has its origins in the battlefield hospitals of WW1, Tri =3 so 3 paths patients were assessed level 1 = not sufficienty wounded to require admission, refer to dressing station Level2 serious enough to admit with good prospect of positive outcome level 3 Too far gone, put them out side and shoot them up with enough morphine to give them a peaceful end In that respect, little has changed
  13. With old wood chip score it soak it and leave it. Go and do something else. Then more water and leave it, and again and again. Time and water gets there in the end The paint makes it impervious to steam and it take a long time for the water to soak throgh the score marks

  15. Thats not completely true, Trump has not been paying much tax for years because he has been losing money hand over fist and borrowing money to make up the shortfall. His debt level is astronomical. https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2020/09/27/us/donald-trump-taxes.html
  16. Closing the hospitality in the summer just encouraged lots of BBQs and secret house parties. Plus a lot of lock ins People didn't just sit indoors and watch Tipping Point then have an early night
  17. Mine was absolutely fine
  18. No is a heck of a lot easier to say than yes for a FEO in these circumstances. Yes is always going to be a risk what would you say if it was you? I doubt it would ever happen being realistic
  19. Where I used to take my car they would clean and valet it after every service, I didn't ask them to and I would be happy for them not to because it was clearly a hidden charge. b They have to update it on the vehicle's computer history if its a main agent, I suppose there is a time element in doing that
  20. Whats wrong with a police state? it sounds good to me, under the present situation I would welcome it
  21. My step grandson was coughing at school, his mother was phoned to come and collect him. By the time she got there he wasn't coughing and didn't cough anymore when he got home but the school wouldn't let him back until he had been tested. The schools are ultra careful, understandably. I go strongly with lack of adherence
  22. A lot of lock down measures are just plain nieve. Pubs close at 10, just encourages people to leave the pub and carry on the evening back at somebodys house. Probably illegally. Even though the restaurants have closed you can still order a pizza to be delivered at two in the morning in bigger towns and cities, so its just encouraging illegal gatherings rather than preventing them
  23. Electric scooters are the new hazard round here, some of them can do 40mph (allegedly) riding on the road weaving in and out of traffic
  24. The A303 has to be the worst road in the country. I hate it with a vengance. People like that just make my blood boil.
  25. There is no such thing as bad publicity if it keeps his face on the TV and Biden's face off it then he will have succeeded. The same news a a clip rolling out ever half hour is worth it to his campaign
