  1. That's exactly right, like global warming gets blamed for everything, snow, hot weather, a hurricane, mass migration etc so Brexit will be blamed for every silly little thing that happens ever more
  2. Yes and the tight steering caused it to dip excessively on hard cornering. I think its ripe for harder suspension, maybe GT6 or what ever. I'm not really up on the subtle differences.
  3. Buy a cheap petrol one from argos, good enough is good enough, for a few hours a month. The engine won't last as long but who cares? In twenty or thirty years time you might have to replace it, so what? run it on good oil makes a difference
  4. might be a good opportunity to look into an upgrade as the suspension wasn't that good even in its day
  5. Same suspension as triumph spitfire which still has specialist suppliers and restorers, databases are probably better than for herald
  6. I deal with Mercedes mostly but occasionally BMW and VW, I source parts from Germany. Remember German type approval laws don't allow pattern parts so everything they supply has to be genuine if it comes through a german source. Often parts are a half even a quarter of the prices you can get quoted over here. Recent example was a turbo for a 5 series BMW, we were quoted £1700, sourced from germany £485 (from memory). Worth waiting a few days to get it. Are these repairers doing the same thing? Have they cottoned on to the fact they can save a huge percentage? Is that the reason for the delays? Another recent example was a Hyundai i30 door mirror, quoted approx. £250 by Hyundai, got one from Germany for about £60 and it came complete with all the glass, motors and heater etc installed ready to fit. It was clearly the genuine article, it had all the little factory inspection stickers etc. Only needed the paint but it took a week to come.
  7. Holland have (allegedly) said they have no record of a marriage having taken place
  8. In my mind the EU is the Titanic and Brexit is our lifeboat. To continue the analogy, the European Bank (aka Bundesbank) is the iceberg.
  9. I bet if you phoned the parts dept of a main agent they would tell you the part you are waiting for is available. We have encountered this delaying tactic several times
  10. A lot (all?) of the American slug loads are for shooting deer. In some States, Upstate New York for example, you can only hunt deer with slugs. If you are just shooting paper targets you don't need the velocity or power they are looking for to knock a deer over.
  11. Change the brake fluid, probably more important than the engine oil, I would strip and replace seals and pistons before you go blatting it round the streets getting the oil good and hot
  12. Allowing that (perhaps) up to a million voters that weren't allowed to vote but did anyway, the figure would have been closer to 45% v 55% leave. If the leave vote is thwarted don't disregard the backlash or the damage that will be done to parliamentary democracy for generations...………….. History will reveal that Oliver Robbins rather than Theresa May negotiated brexit and he was a staunch remainer
  13. Basically, every commercial slug will pass safely through any degree of choke. Its not a safety issue, (it can be an accuracy issue). Slug manufacturers are not stupid enough to get sued for blowing up people's guns and paying out millions in compensation
  14. Its apparantly illegal to use the human form as a target for some obscure reason. Perhaps somebody could clarify why?
  15. But they do !!!!!!! My mum's Hungarian carer and her husband both voted in the referendum and so did all their mates. They were issued with poling cards "in error" (conveniently)
  16. The real tragedy in all of this is that after the referendum Farage "retired" and UKIP decended into Looney Tunes. If they were still up and running, banging the Brexit drum none of this would be happening.
  17. I stopped going in pubs long before the smoking ban and only started using them again after the ban made them pleasant places to sit and spend an evening.
  18. I would be so delighted with 50% at skeet, I would probably frame my score sheet
  19. Which raises all sorts of questions about what the family were doing in Britain in the first place.
  20. You really don't want to draw attention to yourself in those sort of places. The reporters going to interview her could well be signing her death warrant
  21. In my life I have found rural folk including farmers to be rather eccentric generally. Not in a nasty way, don't get me wrong, often very aimiably eccentric. I think its because they tend to work and live away from social constraints of other people a lot of the time. A friend of mine John fits that description perfectly. Any negative personality trait in these circumstance will be equally unconstrained and perhaps you should just put it down to eccentricity rather than letting it bug you which it obviously is.
  22. All the stand alone pubs have more or gone now round here because the footprint of land they occupy is worth much more for building. Even in Central London I can get a pint for under £2 from Whetherspoons, and a meal. What stand alone can compete with that?
  23. EU workers take money out of the country in large amounts. They come here specifically to do that, it is their reason for being here. If the situation was reversed I would do it .
  24. Right now listen up because this is the genuine facts as far as it can be ascertained She was British born but not to British parents. That does not qualify her as a British Citizen. Only if one or both your parents are british do you qualify. There are many precidents. American service families had children over here but they are not British The big question is what passport did she have when she travelled to Turkey?. It appears the home office have been "less than efficient" in these matters . Issuing British passports to lots of people who weren't actually entitled but if she had a British passport when she left, she has a good case. Years ago a friend of mine "Clint" was born in Australia. Australia at that time was under British rule. Yet "Clint" was shocked to find that he was not allowed to return to the land of his birth some twenty years later, except as a visitor by applying for a visa. Which was limited to 12 months
  25. When the charge was read he made no comment. That's standard procedure. Whatever he said would have made no difference but it could have been twisted, mis- construed etc. Say nothing and reserve your defence for when it counts. Good advice The reporting of this has been emotive, salacious and down right inaccurate. Why let the truth get in the way of a good story? The police response has been heavy handed Does anybody ACTUALLY think that an experienced stalker with lots to lose (liberty, business and probably home, possibly marriage ) would have intentionally gone into "a public park" and shot a deer ? Because I for one don't believe a word of it as it has been reported Me? I cannot see it
