Just to stick my oar in-I really dont see any problem offering to pay to shoot squirrels ,or any other vermin in fact, if you get a particular pleasure from it then fire away-surely everybodys happy.

Had problems with my nipples U but I find that if you half cock the hammers before you load the gun then all seems fine with miss firing all but cured. Have fun with the new toy Kiffy, do you have powder/shot droppers big enough for a 10?

If its anything like the Mercury (and I think the stocks are pretty much the same size) then you will most likely need a set of reach forward mounts but with the forward mount turned around and placed nearest your eye-this is the best way to get the correct eye relief-from memory Ronnie Sunshine is the cheapest source-go via Ebay cos postage is/was free.

SKB trap 885 target 12 gauge
bruno22rf replied to Gun Watch's topic in Guns for Sale (Private Sales)
Bought an SKB many years ago by mistake but the quality amazed me-easily on par with a Browning costing 3 times the price, sold it when I simply had no choice over 15 years ago and its still going strong as the day it was new-still, in fact, looks like new-amazing guns. -
Before I forget ,evo, Air Arms do a range of applicators that enable you to place those pellets even more accurately than your Daystates-from memory you need to order part number......S410 or S510

IMHO the S200 is a superb gun because of what it is-small, light and stupidly accurate. Both ones that I have hunted with have sported the AA silencer and I cannot recall any occasion where putting a better mod on it would have made the slightest difference. Brilliant gun due to its simplicity yet precision built action-soooooo under rated that it hurts

Thanks for the replies so far-already have a BP licence cookoff013 so no probs there-is it worth buying a load-all and simply pre measuring the powder to manually charge the shells I wonder? Seems the easiest way to go?
-
Gamebore no longer make BP shells and their entire stock was purchased by "Just cartridges" who demand £29/box!! So I'm looking for a more financially acceptable means of getting my hands on some. Have thought about making my own but after speaking to Kranks today and being informed that BP ruins reloading presses because of its coarse nature I find myself at the feet of the PW masses and their wealth of knowledge-anybody out there into BP shells or the reloading of?

bruno22rf replied to n1tromad's topic in Shooting/Ferreting/Beating Wanted
I'm in Winslow and we shoot clays every other Sunday (inc this one coming)-you are welcome to come along and I can promise you will be most welcome at the club. I have guns you can borrow and Clays are the safest way to start shotgun shooting. I also use .22 rf locally and have mentored before but not getting out much at the moment cos of the weather and ill health but will start again soon. pm me if I can help -
So sorry to hear-but could she have had a better life?-doubt it.

At the end of the day it comes down to the dogs welfare and if you are unable to keep them mentally and physically excersised then the kindest thing to do is find them a new home. I cannot see why anybody should give you any grief-your dogs lives will be better and its a no brainer-it wont be easy though

Agree Gunman-Burton defo does them himself as I watch him sometimes-several tanks of bubbling mysterious liquid
-
I doubt that they are under any obligation to refund you-if you had bought it over the phone then you would have 14 days to return it but as you saw the gun and accepted it then its a different matter. They are more likely to exchange the gun but you might be lucky.

Jesus-R33SY-I pay £160 for a pair of shotgun barrels-you can post the barrel no problems cos its not a functioning firearm-only a part. Ring Douglas Burton (ex Boss barrel maker) on 01296 655477 and ask him for a price-rub them down yourself to save time and money.

Not quite sure what you are asking?-a days shooting away from a Clay ground? Decoying pigeons or what? It might help if you clarify your needs or am I missing something??

Thank you for looking,I really appreciate your help Gunman-the info that I have found (on double guns) states that the company were founded in Brum in 1850 ish and then moved to Shrewsbury (Milk street) in 1900 where they remained until 1950-the shop then moved to the High street until it closed in about 1960-Im going to search Ancestry .com to see what comes up.....
