  1. Mayweather was a different class and proved that he is the best pound for pound fighter in the world. Manny claimed after the fight that he should have one which is bull. He also used the excuse that Mayweather moved about too much; as far as I can see you are allowed to move about the ring, perhaps they should tie manny's next opponent to the spot
  2. I'm working tomorrow & plan an all nighter watching the golf & boxing. Tomorrow is gonna be a long day...come on Floyd!!!
  3. Well done fella; i do love my game meat & I would eat stuff I've shot 3 or 4 times a week, but I don't know if I could do it all year.

Well I've never tried the nm800 with a green pill but very happy with the t67. Weight doesn't bother me as I'm never on solo missions.

    T67

Took the t67 out last night for the first outing & I must say I was very impressed. I also took my red led nm800 out for comparison. Normally I am restricted to sub 200 shots with the nm800 but last night I could has easily taken a shot at 250+ yards with the green led t67 & that was with a full moon, on a dark night it could be further than my capabilities stretch. Obviously the green led is brighter than a red led but even taking that into account the t67 gave so much more range. For the lone lamper the t67 wouldn't be practical because of the weight, but I am always out with someone else. I will not be getting rid of the nm800 yet as it is so reliable & hasn't let me down in 2 years, but the t67 will allow my .223 to stretch it's legs a bit more.
  6. I'm looking to do a bit more fly fishing this summer will only be at stocked fisheries for trout. I have a fly rod (hand me down from my father) but one of the eyes are missing so looking to get some new kit. Would like a new reel with floating line too. I had a look on eBay & there are loads of kits so what would be a budget setup that you would suggest. The reel I have at the minute is decent but it has intermediate line on it; would you all suggest I fish with floating line. I'm looking to spend about 50 quid on rod, reel & line as I only get out a few times each year when I'm not shooting. Cheers
  7. Hi All, Last season we decided to put plastic leg rings on our pheasant poults as a way of identification. The plan was to put different colours on each year as a way of identifing old birds and wild birds without rings. I purchased 12mm rings as I was told this is a suitable size for pheasants; however, about 20% of the rings fell off in the release pen. My question is, how small a ring could you get away with on a pheasant? Would 10mm still be big enough not to damage the leg as the pheasant grows? Does anyone know of someone who supplies elasticated leg rings that would expand as the bird grows? Cheers
  8. Does anyone really think a Lynx is going to take on a boar? No it's going to go a field beside the forest & have some tasty lamb aswell. Lovely animals but I can't see the benefit of reintroducing them into our countryside.
  9. Just to add my a little to the good advice you have already received. On our flight pond we make the most of free food. We go to potato farmers and ask for a couple of bags of mouldy spuds, chop these up in a bucket and put into the shallow areas. This gives a bit of variation but it's also cheaper then constantly feeding barley/wheat. On some of my permissions there are also crab apple trees, so I also chop some of this up to mix in with the grain. I also keep the veg peelings from the house. As Anser said adjust the feeding to suit the numbers. We normally start feeding around end of July, and every few weeks we sit a couple of hundred yards from the pond to see how many ducks are attending. This doesn't disturb the ducks as we sneak away after the flight is over and it also gives you an idea what time the flight starts. Good luck and don't shoot anymore than you need.
  10. What a kind offer. Fair play to you mate, not many would give a gun away.

Received the t67 from Dave today, really quick delivery. I'll hopefully get out this week & I'll compare the t67 with nm800, I'll post my opinions here.

My mates hand held lamp is unreliable and he is looking to get a replacement. He doesn't want to pay Night Master prices so I wanted to get some info from guys who have the T67. I have heard a lot of people saying they are as good as the nightmaster x searcher but at a fraction of the price. Personally I like the NM 800 and I have it in the turbo kit, but I would appreciate any views on the T67. Also, who is the most reliable supplier for the T67? Cheers
  13. So you like going stalking deer but you aren't happy about someone shooting a giraffe. I think that is a bit hypocritical; I would be 99% sure the meat from the giraffe goes into the food chain like venison, I'm sure the head of the giraffe is a sought after trophy like many medal deer heads, the income generated by the shooting of a giraffe is important to the local economy like stalking in some rural areas and I'm pretty sure giraffe numbers have to be controlled the same as deer. I'm in no way calling you a trophy hunter as I am sure you are not, but I don't think you have the right to criticise another persons hunting.
  14. When these things are posted on here everyone gets on their high horse (pardun the pun) about shooting these majestic beasts; but to me this isn't any more majestic than a big red stag in the highlands or a large fallow in a lowland wood. Like a lot of animals I'm sure Giraffe's need culled if an area gets overpopulated and they are causing problems for young trees etc. I'm sure the hunter paid a lot of money which will be re-invested into stopping poachers and I'm sure none of the animal went to waste with the local villagers. I have posed with a lot of animals I have shot from the humble pigeon to a large billy goat, so I am not going to start criticising other hunters for posing with their kill.
  15. I bought a pair of the inverness shooting trousers for £55 last winter, they are brilliant for the money!!!. I also have bought a light camo jacket from them which has done me 2 years without any hassle. However, I bought a pair of their gators & they the strap tore off one of them. The gear from Solognac seems to be very reasonable.
  16. Thanks for the replies lads. We had intended ringing them just to see how many we shot. The problem with the area is that there is only our syndicate shoot within a 10 mile radius, so there are very few wild birds about. This is partly the reason why we wanted to put out a few, so that in years to come when we are out for a rough shoot we may come upon a pheasant or 2.
  17. There is trees on the shoot but no large wood. The thing is, our syndicate shoot is about 2 mile from here, so they might actually wander onto there. It's an experiment this year to see how they fly on this land and we might consider doing a pen in future years.
  18. Myself and a mate of mine are thinking of releasing a few adult pheasants this winter on a bit of ground that we have the shooting of. The ground is mainly rushy ground, with bramble ditches so the cover isn't too bad. The pheasants are sold as adult birds reared from poults (not ex layers) and sold in September or October when they are nearly ready to be shot. However, we are not putting a pen in this shoot, we are thinking of putting down some feeders and releasing the birds into the wild. How does everyone think they will fare? As there is not a pen do you think that they will all wander off. We are only gonna get 30 or so and it is just to mix up with the woodcock shooting, so we're not going to great expense. Would like to hear everyones thoughts. Cheers
  19. I saw that spray for the moderator on the shooting show. How much is it? Do you spray it inside the moderator?

They could be resident birds or just late leaving for the continent. Whilst out lamping last week I saw 3.
  21. Exactly...if my Granny hada had nuts, she'd be my Granda!!!
  22. Scully, I do agree with you. Ferreting to shotguns is the only way to do it. Bolt the rabbits shoot them, lift the ferret & go to the next hole. No problem with setting & lifting nets; also, it is some of the best sport you can have.
