I have tried pistols with .22 blanks and 8mm blanks and they dont have the same effect as a 12 ga. They deliver a differnet sound to a shotgun, and they can be a bit expensive on the ammo.

I have just bought a S1 from Holts Auctioneers and it is to be delivered to a local (ish) RFD. My FAC was posted recorded delivery to Holts for them to enter the firearm on it, I paid them £35 to ship the firearm along with my FAC to a local RFD and I paid the local RFD £25 to recieve the firearm and to hand it over to me.

Gary Marshall, at Fine Cane Rods in Derby is my recommendation. I can't seem to find his website, however, he has done some first rate repairs for me. Not cheap, but he is a perfectionist.

Collared Doves Individual Licence
tonyshooter replied to Pangolin's topic in General Licence Discussion
I tried for an individual licence. They wanted a site visit to inspect the steps that had already been taken to preclude the doves from the grain / feed sheds. They were expecting all the openings to all the buildings to have already been fitted with nets to exclude the birds, but to allow in a flow of fresh air. This was a must with no exceptions. I withdrew my application ! -
Nurses are always an emotive issue. When I worked in engineering and we wanted a pay rise above what our employer was offering we were told we could have it, but it would have to be funded by redundancies ! Thats the real world for you !

I use A-TEC Carbon Wave sound moderators on my .22 fac air rifle and my three .22rf rifles and with a variety of ammunition in the .22rf's. They are very effective, however, I dont think they are much better than the trusty Parker Hale moderators that I " upgraded " from.

My Mum made screwdrivers like that when she worked at Marples of Sheffield, porobly, some 65 years ago. It is she tells me they are know as a Cabinet Makers Screwdrivers. I do have some gunsmiths turnscewrs that came from John Clarke formerly of Arthur Turner ( Sheffield ) Ltd, and I will post pictures of these when I can find the ******* !

The Keepers and Loaders who I know on the grouse moors in Upper Teesdale use Paramo Pajero or Paramo Halcon coats and Paramo trousers ( not sure of the model. ) These garments are a bit pricey but these guys only use the best.

The BASC website shows the following info, " Leisure and sports facilities, including target shooting ranges and clay grounds are required to close up to and including 2 December. "

Does anyone remember Suggs Sports shops in Sheffield. Roland Wood was the RFD and a true gent, he lived in Rivelin across the dam wall in a house rented from the Duke of Norfolk. Tim Sugg had a gun on the Ronksley and Birchinlee grouse syndicate in the Upper Derwent Valley. They sold " everting from a cricket bat to a box of cartridges ". I bought these cartridges in the early 80's for £12.50, when Eley Grand Prix were still £2.80 a box !

Governments roadmap to ease Covid-19 lockdown restrictions
tonyshooter replied to Westley78's topic in Off Topic
Looks like the Irish plan. Phase one gives no mention of a subs 5 km restriction ( this is currently 2 km in Ireland ), so how do we arrive at 5 km before it is increased to 20 km as mentioned in phase 2 ? And surely a UK Government would quote in miles rather than kilometres. -
I have been a few times for cartridges and a shotgun repair. They are an excellent gun shop and well worth supporting with your business.
