  1. Thats bad, I bet your gutted... If you bought it second hand I would question what or if any damage had been done previously, not seen anything like that happen in such a short time.
  2. Sorry didnt say bye yesterday.very rude of me.. Had a good day. Just spent 1/2 hr pulling **** bullets. Poss see you next time
  3. Some of you must be very posh, snobby, have the need to be "in-vouge" or go beating in open fields there's no way i would spend more than £25 on a pair of leggings, chaps to go beating in. Or maybe the type of beater who wont go through the thick stuff "KEEP IN LINE" !!!! dont you get upset spending £40 + on a pair of leggins only to get them ripped on brambles or black thorn on the first drive ? however much they cost they will get caught and rip eventually. I would be gutted knowing i just got paid my £20 for beating knowing it would go towards a new pair of legging for the next weekend..
  4. :good: This must be about the best answer i have seen in relation to the question that pops up so many times. I freind of mine uses a 222, no problems so far, he's been shooting for a fair amout of years another chap i know shoots 223 again no problems, i shoot 22.250 no problems. Each of us bought our rifles because we chose that calibre, liked the rifle,if you want to say fell in love with it at first glance then fine. They are all more than capable of doing the job they were designed for
  5. Its no different over here, if you go to the silly places for your barley pop like the big cities London,Manchester Birmingham hit the local hot spots / fancy bars then yes it is allot more expensive. But if you stick to the small local villages were IMO you get to see the old traditional parts of a country like Ireland, then you will pay allot less. And get to see more, and understand why its such wonderfull countryside

    Best comedy

A fish called wanda. Best laugh for me.
  7. I wouldnt trust the double sided pads for one minute, i used them in the olden days to attatch mirrors to the love room ceiling and one fell off, thankfully i was not in there at the time :o I ended up taking the lot down, and put them on the wall instead
  8. As said large polystyrene box,vac pack, chill to +2,(it does not have to be froze)or about, place ice packs, seal wrap and post next day or same day. Post marked as perishable goods we used to post meat from butchers on the odd occasion some time back.
  9. Had a sniper system over 2.5 years now cant fault it. It has a 13.75lb rifle on it most times without any problems. well worth the money, and has the lever on to alter the swivel tension. Bought from shooting show for £60 (shop soiled)
  10. Not that bad out in the sticks. The black stuff was just a tad under £3 a pint in May
  11. Its a Sako 75/ 111 laminate, rebarrelled by Steve Kershaw using a Lothar Walther match heavy barrel 22",this was done in September 2010, i have'nt done much with it until just a few months ago, the scope is a Swaro 5-30x50Z6i bullets 55grn nosler varmint, powder 38grn H380, velocity 3875. (a bit fast but plan on dropping it a tad) CCI br primers Redding com dies. Just waiting for Brock & Norris to finish another one ive had rebarreled, see if it shoots any better
  12. Its easier to tell when they are open, i may have the frittilary wrong not 100%

  15. So what your saying is its pretty good to acceptable. i was thinking it was rubbish. I was thinking about getting new brass anyway (12 months old and 5-6 firings) and getting anal on case prep to see if i can tighten it up a little more.

    ANTI'S ????

If it was "Anti's" i would have thought the 4x4 would have been the target not your VW Passat, maybe just some mindless vandal, kids.
  17. I did 2 groups one a 5 shot group and correct for wind, and actually over corrected, i guestimated a 5mph wind from 10 oclock and it worked out at only 2 mph, the other 3 shot without wind correction which actually pointed out the over compensation and put me 1.5 inches off centre as against 5 inches roughly when compensating for the stronger wind. There were actaully 2 shots touching but i knew it wouldnt be my expert shooting, and i dont and wont ever claim i can get 0.18 group at 400yds

    Face book1 ???

Just noticed this on the who's viewing topic bit at the bottom of the page, it wont let you highlight it so what is it is it a spy or just my lack of knowledge on the PC
  19. got it from curry's Altec special offer
  20. Here's a question for the long range shooters on PW, What size group would you expect from your set up at say 400yds, the question came after i had some practice on paper at just a tad over 400 yesterday and was well dissapointed with the group size of 2". Am i expecting far too much from a 22.250 or would you be happy with the results Before all the "Mr & Mrs perfects start having a dig i did say "practice on paper"
  21. I posted a few days ago about trying out an "ipod" player instead of the "Foxpro" for a caller and see what the results were like, The cost was substantialy less at £30 for the player download some "tunes" onto the ipod, i found some cool tunes from "varmint'alls pop chart As you can see it worked OK I put it on an old gate post switched it on selected repeat volume up then walked back to our place of ambush seats up cans opened and waited. We had been waiting a while but i forgot to mention i checked zero as we got there so possibly put things back a while It was getting just about too dark to see clearly through the scope or bins, you know the time when you start to be unsure if its a Fox or a "Dock" is it moving  ,I was sure i saw something moving under a large Oak or was it my mind making things up, I got my lamper to do his stuff,I was right, i watched the Fox through the scope he wasnt bothered with the extra bit of light we were giving him, thiether was he intent on stopping,he was on a mission to have a good chew on my £30 "ipod" player. Well not if i had anything to do with it, he hesitated for a second,if that, was it long enough to be acccurate though of course We sat for a few minutes, there are more around i told my mate, 20minutes or so he spots another, coming allong the same line, this one a little more hesitant head down slow steps, just a little too slow for its own good that's just one more to go out of that group. Quite happy with the results All done and in the pub for 10.30. cant fault the night really
  22. Well done Nik, nice shooting You have a well trained retriever working for you too, even though it seems he winges now and again "pg123" i am sure you got treated to a pint though after, for your hard work
  23. I had simalar, only I had offered a days rabbiting, pub lunch and a beer, only to have a pm the night before with a feeble excuse,if any. Wont happen again....
