  1. North Wales Shooting School, Sealand. www.shootingschool.net David.
  2. +1 to that. Also the contacts made going beating will help you get into small local shoots. David.
  3. Walk one stand one DIY shoot is the way to go. The work through the year to produce the birds is actually part of the reward. David.
  4. The problem with the people who think that "I thought I was in danger" is a defense don't think it through. In law the level of proof in a case is the same for all crimes. Next time you get done for exceeding the 30 limit or similar try saying "I hought it was a 40 limit" and see how far you get. You may not like it but it is true. Anyway the fix was in for the Stockwell Tube killing. The coroners jury were told in advance that they could not bring in a verdict of unlawful killing, no matter what the evidence was. Justice or not? David.
  5. That is a pretty sweeping statement from someone who probably knows nothing of the situation. David.
  6. I know they aren't very powerful, but for insurance and sheer get you anywhere, a Jimny will take some beating. The Grand Vit which I have moved up purely for more knee room is very capable and has diff lock and low ratio. I don't think for most use you need a raised version unless you really compete off road or are a serious wannabee. Ditto for all the lights, if you want to go lamping go with a pal who can shine the lamp or get a suction mounted one. You might want to get the best price for it later so don't fill it with holes which need filling and make it rust. Also can someone really tell me the use of bull bars in this country? If you have the misfortune to hit a pedestrian you will regret the results and if you hit a bull the bars will do little to help you. My dad hi an ox in the dark in Botswana, when he was driving a big american pickup, the ox pushed the radiator back into the fan, bounced over the roof and landed in the back, my dad went round the back, lowered the tail board and the ox rolled out and walked off, considerably less damaged than the truck! Learning to drive properly off road will do you more good than a lot of kit. David (In full grumpy old *** mode)
  7. Thanks, 550 rail bigger than the 527. Good luck it is a good price. David.
  8. Hello, Will these fit a CZ550? Clearance for a 50mm objective? David.
  9. No. Need the ticket on someone else's land, Self-emplyed or no reward. Arborists off the ground ticket for a top handled saw. David.
  10. In my part of Wales the deal is you find someone qualified and do a deal. It gets cut up and you do the labouring and the wood goes 50% - 50% David.
  11. Just get it all cross certificated. Easy enough if you ask nicely. David.
  12. The thing is with the plug in the mag, and I don't have ay problems releasing it, is that the action can't close. David.
  13. Hello there, Could you put me on your list. I would be happy and have space for either/both. Kind regards, David.
  14. The Napier one has a rim that grips. Or you could push the action forward a bit to close it. David.
  15. Just plug it into the magazine, the action won't close so it cant fire. David.
  16. Had mine a while for 'fowling. Generally only use heavier cartridges. It seems that it is more the length of the shell rather than the load that causes problems. If I load shorter cartridges it must be used as a 1 + 1. Two in the mag jams it as half the second cartridge comes out onto the lifter and it is take it down time. Otherwise it has been fine. David.
  17. I have used them. Got them from John (Webber of this site) They are a very good cartridge and very smooth for the velocity. David.
  18. RDF.Radio Direction Finding. Now known as radar. David.
  19. That is a lot of the problem. I have tipped when I have been lucky enough to be on a "proper" driven shoot, but that shouldn't be a reason why the shoot owners pay pitiful wages! David.
  20. Probably interested. Near St. Asaph. David.
  21. I have one as well, if you are near Sealand we could meet up and you could try mine if that is easier for you. David.
  22. Davey and son in yorkshire will sell you a new one at a very reasonable price. David.
  23. For the lucky few who will on our shoot later in the season. Saw quite a few woodcock yesterday. David.
  24. Can't you just set up so you can use the screen for concerts? David.
