You've done some great work there, loving a lot of it. Couple of things I'd have done different but that's a personal taste thing and I'm sure the client is over the moon.

So where doe the second roller attach?

Yep, he's a debt collector now, busy as you like.

Do I enjoy the killing part of it? Not particularly. I do enjoy the chase, the stalk, or the setting of decoys, the anticipation as your quarry appears and I get immense satisfaction from a clean shot, even more from a left and right...as well as disappointment and a slight sadness when it's not so clean. I justify my killing by ensuring that everything I shoot which can be, is eaten. Either by our family or friends etc who will happily take rabbit and pigeon. I have no qualms about shooting corvids onn farmland, I've seen what they are capable of, and rats once again don't require a second thought. I am less comfortable with big game hunting, but wouldn't condemn anyone for it. We all make our choices.

Yeah, decent bunch there for sure.

Fair comment, and I chose policeman as it was the first uniform I thought of. To be honest, I don't think I'd be as 'upset' if it was a bus driver (although I'll bet his employers would have him for bringing the company into disrepute), but the whole thing about game shooting is it's a sport for the gentry, full of tradition and etiquette etc, and as such, if you are involved in it you should be expected to act accordingly whenever in the company colours!

Right! After a marathon phone session with ebay, it's resolved. I declined the cancellation request, which means he'll still be charged the final value and listing fees. I can if I so choose leave negative feedback still, and ebay are going to 'take action' against the seller. What that means, I have no idea! However, it may mean he'll think twice on how he lists things or behaves in future! Just as a point of interest, he messaged me offering to sell it to me for £120 more than I won it at....not that he wanted more money for it or anything! I declined that as well.

Saved me saying it.

I have to disagree there. At the very least, most people would recognise a gamekeeper as being that. There is enough in the press, literature and on TV to ensure it. It may not be an accurate representation but the imagery is there. As for them being singled out being 'ridiculous'. Hang on, we've just had a 10 pager on the tradition and pomp and circumstance of the game shoot. Would they be able to behave like this at the shoot? Of course not! While they are still in uniform, IMO they are still representing the Estate and industry and as such should behave as they would while still at work. Would you forgive a Policeman for misbehaving while in uniform although his shift has ended?

I'm aware that I'm unlikely to get the truck but I don't see why the a-holes of this world should get away with acting like...well, a-holes! If he has to pay seller fees or the like it may make him think twice about backing out of a future sale! All I want is a serviceable Disco for the winter ***!
-
Not that I've experienced to be honest, but I'll say again. I use it as a cleaner which is wiped off then the gun is oiled and greased.
-
Trouble is it's a truck, not like he's going to post it! I have to agree to cancel the transaction but don't really see what's to be gained by refusing to do so. I can't make him sell it to me.
-
So, I have won something on Ebay at a very sensible price. The seller reckons ebay are cancelling the transaction as an ebay glitch allegedly prevented him uploading photos. Thing is, I messaged him yesterday and there was no mention of this. I reckon he's just ****** off as it didn't make enough money. Anyone know where I stand?

Ridgeline again. Great quality coats etc, sensible price. Loving mine.

I prefer a Buff myself in black go for the windproof one at least.

The above stands for many 'trades' to be honest. The youngsters of today don't want to work for a living if they can help it, and if they do have to work then it's all about maximum wage for minimum effort! Why go to all the effort of working hard four+ days a week, college on the fifth and all for barely more than dole money! They have no vision of the time when they would reap the benefits. It is the same with our plumbing apprentices and most other apprentices I hear of. There are exceptions to the rule, but they are now the exceptions rather than the rule.

Is the gunging comment aimed at WD-40 or ACF50?

114 on Saturday. Two other guys who are on here also had an additional 150 between them over the weekend off the same fields, but I'll let them add them if they wish. 11844 -
Couldn't agree more, and, after the fuss about time honoured tradition and etiquette at game shooting days (see the post about shooting pheasant with a camo semi auto) it should go without saying that their behaviour while representing the 'company' should be of an equally high standard.
-
ACF50 is used a LOT om motorcycles. A quick scan on ebay shows two bike outlets selling it at sub £15.00 incl postage.
-
I should have made my post more comprehensive reading it retrospectively. I should add that there is nothing wrong with tradition and indeed I agree that for some occasions it's nice to make a little more of an effort. I do object though to those idiots at the clay grounds who make disparaging comments about guys using camo'd semi autos. Just as the game shooting is starting, so is the fowling. What is the difference between a game shooter practicing on the clays with his SxS and the 'fowler practicing with his gun of choice. As for the twit with three in the tube, gun safety is gun safety and he could just as easily have loaded outside the cage to save time. Just as wrong as sticking three up the tube really.d

Good offer and one that I may well take you up on in the near future! -
It goes against tradition, That's it, nothing more. As such, much as at some clay grounds, there will be those wanting to look disdainfully down their nose at the person who carries out such a travesty!

No, the solution is to not go to the offendeds house any more! Will no doubt have them wondering why nobody comes to visit!
