  1. With Snarepeg on this, HW80k and get it tuned, can't go wrong.
  2. I think Wilksy means Scott Rea on you tube !! Check out the Scott Rea Project, a masterclass of butchery / cooking all types of game.
  3. Welcome to the group Cimic, Weihrauch moderators are good or you could try a SAK moderator. SAK are not expensive and are proofed for .22lr and 17HMR, more than enough for FAC air. I would also go along the screw cut route.
  4. Try the baseball cap you can buy with the peak at the back then you can still see the clays coming from behind !
  5. Try a handful of grass and some water !!
  6. PPU ammo is cheap but not the most consistant, keep the brass, (which is good), and start reloading. You can tailor the rounds to suit the rifle and save a lot of money.
  7. You already have the authorisation to shoot on the land from the owner, if you have a "closed" FAC the condition, "on land approved.........etc" covers you to shoot. If you tell them they could add it to your file and on renewal they will ask for a letter from the landowner. The more you do it the more letters you will need. Just go and shoot there.
  8. Staffs Police did an FAC variation in two days but it has just taken three months to do the SGC renewal.
  9. Very much with Fortune on this, if you join a club you won't get expanding ammunition and will only be allowed to shoot on approved ranges. Get some land and take it from there.
  10. The SGC is in for renewal and I asked for coterm with the FAC which expires in 6 months. Staffordshire said they could not do this. I explained I would stand the loss of 6 months FAC but they refused. Apparently if the FAC is up for renewal before the SGC they would do it but not the other way around. Seems a bit daft to me as surely it would help to reduce a backlog.
  11. Sak with Eley hp subs, very quiet, no light shine.
  12. You can take 26 boxes of 17 hmr 20 grain rounds. They weigh 190 grams per box, (box included). That's 1300 rounds in total. Hope this helps, ATB.
  13. Keep an eye open in Aldi, they sell neoprene fishing gloves which are pretty good, (fold back finger), and last year they sold windproof, waterproof, breathable Thinsulate gloves which I found to be great and only £10.00.
  14. Great shooting bags, my son and I have had one each for several years now. Just the right size for shooting, loads of compartments and tough. (I wonder if they sell them as fishing bags so as not to upset the anti's?).
  15. Got Hawkes on all the rifles from HW80k springer, .22RF, 17 HMR and .243. Never had a problem with any of them.
  16. I've used the Deben for several years now and have had no problems with them. Very good for picking up "normal" sounds as well. I can recommend them.
  17. Give Mike Dickinson a call at Calton Moor Range between Leek and Ashbourne in north Staffordshire, not too far from you. 01538 308697 or 07721 671746. Postcode is DE6 2BU. He will advise re the best barrel length to shorten it to and will screw cut and re crown it. Just had a Rem 700 in .243 done and it was ready in a week. Also when you collect you can zero it in his underground range. Not sure on the price as some other products were purchased but I think it was £100.00. ATB.
  18. Have used one for several years, mainly for rough shooting and for some clays. Lots of extra pockets and at £12.99 you can't go wrong.
  19. £20.00 for Aldi's own make, last ages and comfortable. You pay extra for the brand name but the boot does the same thing.
