  1. Cheers mate, I had to get out, they've been enjoying themselves for three weeks. I've looked at the pop ups but there not cheap, this looked like a good idea, I'm having some pallets dropped off so I'm not sat on the floor, so should be more comfortable. I need to know the feeder is going to stay full for the week, it was already quite low and I filled it Tuesday. But there's four less eating feed now. The thermal came in handy today, I could use it through the camo netting, its wasn't great weather for it but the squirrels were showing up well enough to keep me out of sight, and that's how I spotted the one I winged. You can tell there on the feeders by the feed going but the camera takes the guess work out that's for sure, and you just never know what you might see 👍
  2. Typical, I couldn't get out yesterday and the weather was perfect, the Mrs got the all clear this morning so I can go out and its raining, it had rained most of the night and didn't look like stopping, but I had a cunning plan. I bought this before xmas, it's a cheap fishing brolley but with a skirt round the sides, so I'm not silhouetted, then added a camo net Happy days, I'm not sat in the rain which means I don't mind waiting. The first squirrel was on the feeder within 5 minutes, it was up above the feeder probably watching me set up, as soon as I was out of sight it was straight down and lifting the lid, Pfft whack one down. It Landed on it's back so I went and moved it, back out of sight and maybe half an hour there is another, but it's just sitting up above the feeder, it's one of those wet mornings where nothing wants to move, no birds moving or calling everything just hunkered down wanting the rain to stop. All I can hear is rain, drip drip splosh, its been ten minutes and the squirrel hasn't moved, so I shot it Pfft whack thump, it had moved slightly showing its head which was a mistake. Number 2 down. That one fell in the brambles behind the feeder so I left it, maybe another half an hour and I spot one on the deck, there is a pile of wheat that the squirrels have thrown out and it was happily eating that, typically there were a couple of branches in the way that I hadn't cleared( I have now) but it very obligingly moved over, head down facing me, it didn't look like it was going anywhere near the feeder so I took that one through the top of the head Pfft whack just rolled over. Time to stretch the legs and move the pair, the one off the deck was a small female with something all over her, like sores or mange but not, the other was a male and he was big the photo doesn't do him justice. It was still raining plus everthing was dripping, I was wondering what were the chances of any more given the weather but thought I'd give it till mid day but time for a break. 3 squirrels down so I figured I'd earned a kit kat 😀 no brew though!! Another came along and went straight up onto the feeder, no hesitation or messing, I let it start feeding then took the shot, but it must have moved, instead of dropping it jumped off the feeder, I was straight out looking for it and spotted it up a tree, I put another pellet in it and it dropped but got hung up, I put two more in it but it wasn't coming down. I'm sure something will bring it down over the weekend, so four in two and a half hours. I decided to call it a day, pretty sure that me trying to get the last one down would have disturbed everything. Packed everything away and topped the feeder back up, my gun was soaked in the time I'd spent sorting the fourth, and it was still raining that fine nasty stuff. A wet but good morning out. The other feeders were both empty so I'll look at those next week. And I called at my other big feeder on my way home and that was almost empty, just need some drier weather to catch up with them.
  3. It can't hurt mate, going through the images on my camera I've got multiple squirrels on the feeder, squirrel in the feeder with another trying to get in, squirrels chasing up/down the tree, and on the tree with the camera on it scratching at it, then others on the ground. I can't see directly below the feeder with the angle but there could be more eating the spillage, it's been three weeks tomorrow keeping it filled up with just the one shot, I'll be up and ready waiting for a msg off the Mrs 😉

    Ups and downs

Excellent stuff, not my thing, I hate running but it's for a great cause. I was going to say I'll walk it, but they'd rip me forever 😄

    Ups and downs

Nowt stranger than folk, but I really do think its winter + lockdown. Some of our lads are doing a running challenge starting 1st of Feb. https://www.cancerresearchuk.org/run56challenge-faqs That's got the banter going with lads doing warm up runs. Hope the nets are bulging at the weekend 👍

    Ups and downs

Times are different, a few years back my street was hit by floods and everyone was out helping which was great to see. Get yourself involved with a sports team, we haven't played rugby since last March, some training has gone on but there's still been loads of banter and Micky taking and a mate to chat to if needed. And think of your family, most folk probably only get time for work then home, especially during winter, never mind with the hassle of lockdown.
  7. Certainly do, the Mrs had a covid test though today otherwise I'd have been out first thing. She's done a home test from her school this afternoon which was negative, as soon as she gets the all clear from the nhs I'm straight out.
  8. Never seen a watch like that before.
  9. I went and got my camera yesterday about 5pm, went up Thursday evening last week, set for 1 picture and ten second video every 10 minutes. Feeder was almost empty 200 pictures and 200 videos, squirrels 8-10am busy, 1-3 squirrels and the first time I've seen two squirrels together with there heads in the feeder. 10-12 second then 14-16, the rate its going I'm glad it's not nuts.
  10. That seems strange? I've got a feeder being hammered with mostly cheap B&M seed in it. I'd have thought they would be on the peanuts by now.
  11. Nothing much more personal or different than people's taste in watches 👍
  12. I'm with you on having steak, although I like pizza, but you are trying to kill him! Man falls on(his own) knives in shed and bleeds to death.
  13. Couldn't handle that, I'm not even sure where the hands are? Half ten or half 7? I'm another with the expedition, I've also got a Lorrus Lumibrite, lovely and clear but not as good as the expedition in the middle of the night. And they are cheap.
  14. A work colleague of a friend died at home because of this, lived alone, they were getting regular phone calls texts etc, then weren't answering so called the police.
  15. That's the issue, if I'm shooting at 15m-20m then I know the accupells through my rapid will go straight through a rats head, I've got holes in plant pots to prove it, now shooting from above into the ground that's not an issue. But I've shot rats in public places, and with windows nearby so knowing my pellet isn't going to be stopped means the most accurate pellet in my gun isn't the one I use. I've never actually put any Pest control over my chrono now I think about, if I have I don't remember it, but they must be going slower? The best option for close range ratting would probably be a lower powered gun, maybe 8-9ft/lb but I've never had enough rat shooting to justify buying something.
  16. I can send you some pest control to try if you want? They are a big heavy pellet but well made and hit hard, like a flying bucket.
  17. Reads to me as the key worker place would be removed. .................... "One man told the BBC his two grandchildren were at the school and children as young as four have been asked about their activities at home, which was "out of order". "My granddaughters are pretty intimidated by the tone," he said. "Asking them questions like that and then the answers off the back of that. They come to a decision of whether they are going to displace them or not." ..................... Kids are always asked what they did at the weekend, and I'm biased but if kids are still going to school then they should absolutely be sticking to the rules. If not then why not lose the place.
  18. I really like bisley pest control in 22, like you've said with the AA field I've had that with accupells, they zip clean through, in some cases that's fine but you obviously aren't using the full stopping power, and you need to be careful with the background.
  19. It is, but like Sciurus says above it happens, greys can still get onto Angelesy on there own and do, but are quickly dealt with, but when they turn up miles from the entry point!! It's done deliberately.
  20. I love this, imprisonment 🤣🤣🤣 That's exactly what the reporter tried saying this morning, it's hardly imprisonment, its ten days or 14? And should stop unnecessary travel and stop new variants being brought in? Asking people to self isolate after returning from abroad obviously doesn't work. As for sports persons travelling abroad I'd stop that as well unless they also go into quarantine on their return, I'm amazed the 6 nations is going ahead, it will probably get going then stop again, pretty pointless.
  21. It's nothing new, the research has been going on for a while now, will it work? Will it cross to reds? Believe it or not people actually take greys to Angelesy and release them!!!
  22. Thst much is obvious, I didn't realise till tonight that we had hit the hundred thousand deaths mark, did you see the graph showing the spike in December, things leveled out around November when we had a lockdown, then shot up through December going from 60,000 to hit the 100,000 today, so 40,000 in just over a month. I agree with what you say about seriously old people sat in care homes dying at a natural age, but a spike of 40,000 in such a short time, with the hospitals at pretty much full capacity stopping other treatments? Do you think that's ok? I'm wondering what number people think is acceptable to accept the current restrictions are needed? Another 50,000 maybe another 100,000
