  1. Firecrest is red, goldcrest is gold, brilliant little birds to watch in the pines. You'll catch up with the fatty next time hopefully.

    Good news πŸ‘

    Greenhouses?

Everyone is spot on, I'm about 6ft in my boots and a standard sized greenhouse is definitely a bit short , I bang my head all the time. Its similar to this, but was around Β£500 on offer. Its nothing like as good as my Cedar Althom greenhouse was, definitely get as big as you can and check out the hight.
  4. Mice!

    Amanda Holden.

Sounds like a rota might be needed, wouldn't want anyone getting worn out.
  5. Well done, good perseverance, she would have no doubt added a good few more greys to the area shortly.
  6. I follow a group on FB shooting down there, they are largely responsible for squirrel control to do with tree damage, normally they are shooting 6,7,8 as a minimum and regularly hitting teens a few times a week, but this year they are still seeing very few so far, blinking regularly because there are still natural food sources available.
  7. Because most have never seen a red up close, they are like tigers or pandas, just images on the telly unfortunately. Watching a red scamper around a few metres away from you is fantastic, greys in comparison are just there to eat whatever they can find.
  8. That can't be right? He moves his feet but they are already on him? I don't generally follow club stuff, but I'll be recording the highlights to see what's said.
  9. Looks like frost/ice damage. Of you screenshot your pictures you can then post more.
  10. One of the lads on Facebook posted about seeing a red this week on the patch they shoot in the North East, said it brought a tear to his eye, years of shooting greys paying off. Sadly elsewhere in Cumbria there have been a few causes of pox being reported this week.
  11. I was out a few weeks ago, at a feeder and saw nothing for two hours, yet 300-400 yards away there were three squirrels happily or maddeningly rooting around on the ground still for acorns, rather than come and take the easy food. That was a nice day, no wind and warm, maybe you need a good cold day to get them wanting the easier food from a feeder.
  12. Try and compare and record the weather patterns on the days you shoot, we have had high winds today, the squirrels don't like that at all, we went out for a walk this afternoon and the wood we went to is normally crawling, I only saw two.
  13. Have the residents not had the vaccine?

I had similar a few weeks ago, my mrs didn't feel to good, thought it was a bug but had a couple of mild symptoms that could be covid related so booked a test, she decided this on the Tuesday night. I'd been in work an hour so informed them expecting to be told do a test and if she tests positive go and isolate, but I was sent home till the test results came in. Slightly different because she felt she had symptoms. I'm surprised they didn't do another temp check after a short while, especially given your daughters age, but 38Β°C does seem high, although I understand what you mean about the teething. We are temp checked each shift, not sure I've ever been above 34 but it's one of those guns they use, a high temp and your told to go sit on your own for twenty minutes then tested again, after that things kick off but it hasn't happened on my shift yet. Hope your all feeling fine though and the high temp was just from the teething.
  15. It was Baltic, but warms up quick, and was dry which means it's not raining πŸ˜„πŸ˜„ It doesn't register a minus temp.
  16. It has been cold, but I've not had the heating on this week. And I can leave the caravan πŸ˜ƒ I get that being in a hotel room for two weeks isn't perfect, but it's just two weeks, and you know its going to happen.
  17. Priceless, two weeks in a hotel room, such hardships.
  18. While being at work!, not being paid to sit at home, doesn't mean I wouldn't like to take the kids out somewhere nice. As for the mental health issue, I don't get it, unless you aren't earning and have bills piling up, live alone with no one to talk to, but if that's the case it was probably bad before. Or your waiting on treatment restarting, otherwise your just being inconvenienced by the restrictions. Apparently people die all the time so it's ok? That's the impression some give about the number of covid deaths. You obviously didn't see it, he chose to have his hair like that, half his face was covered. I'm hoping and expecting things will be relaxed given the falling numbers and the successful roll out of the vaccine to the vulnerable, but I'm expecting social distancing to remain for a good while.
  19. 100,000 plus dead, 21,000 in hospital, doesn't sound serious at all, not to mention the ongoing health problems for those who have had covid and been badly affected by it. I still think back to the skier interviewed and worked in a care home, super fit and was floored by covid, what chance would the over weight middle aged with a few health concerns have if we hadn't had the restrictions we've had? Everyone is fed up not being able to go and do as we want, but its been a year of hassle for most, nothing worse. Far worse for those waiting for treatments cancelled, hopefully they will restart soon. I saw a young lad on the news last night saying he was going to be doing the trial, looked maybe twenty but all I could think was sort your hair.
  20. Absolutely, I'm still waiting for the day I need that second mag in my pocket πŸ˜„
  21. Typical, but like you say theres always next time. Hopefully the single brings a friend.
  22. You can but try πŸ‘ I think a lot depends on what others around you are doing. Take the Lakes for instance, the group I'm in take a lot of grey squirrels every year, this then benefits other areas as it stops the greys spreading into their areas.
  23. Twice? How big is your feeder? Must be a good few about, but four less πŸ‘
  24. Cheers fella, she looked and felt it, but I'd left my knife in the car.
