Big female this morning. 295

Just the one today, spent an hour at a feeder this morning but saw nothing, although I got a little excited when a pigeon appeared in the ivy. I went walk about and spotted a squirrel on the ground, it disappeared up into the trees and hid in the ivy, but couldn't hide from the thermal, it moved a touch probably wanting to keep an eye on me, I lined her up and waited for the swaying of the trees to ease then Pfft whack but didn't drop. Took an age to fall through the branches, must have clung on as the pellet hit, and seemed to snag on every branch on it's way down. Big female, not lactating but I think pregnant. I was out for around three hours and that was the only squirrel I saw.

You should have taken chocolates or Macdonald's, that might have got someone's attention?? Its certainly strange how some are hit hard while others barely notice it.

Well I spent 2hrs out this afternoon 4pm till 6pm looking around my BIG wood and only spotted 4 squirrels, yes it was damp and raining a bit but it shows shooting is effective. These different ideas might work given enough time and money but there would still be grey squirrels in the wood, causing damage, spreading pox.

The Kayak could draw attention, but you're moving house not going on a jolly, you might get questioned then you'll be waved on your way.

And then they all go home, go shopping, go to work and the spread continues. They'll no doubt be fine, but a £200 fine that may or may not be collected is pointless as a deterrent. Like I said when I started the thread about lockdown working at bringing the infection rate down, it's the few like these that will keep us in lockdown longer.

I'll bet you don't get asked a single question by anyone.

Strange how the cold doesn't kick in when your enjoying yourself. I'm sure it would have been different if it hadn't been so cold, why were you shooting with the hush power though?

I've always said the train is a great way to travel, if it doesn't matter what time you arrive, that extra twenty minutes will likely be spent trying to get parked at a train station car park somewhere, any I drive past are always chock full.

But did you make it back?? Pigeon shooters must be nuts, it was viciously cold Saturday and cold with high gusting winds on Sunday. Then Monday was 10°C and lovely, you couldn't make it up.

I've said all along they should have copied what they do in Holland, an efficient tram service between three or four stations then the big trains make less stops , rather than stopping to pick up one or two passengers. And does a few minutes off a trip to London matter? Not one bit.

You might be ok keeping the bottle topped up with a pump? I've not used one, I wouldn't want to pump it from low though on a bottle gun if I wasn't in the greatest of health. Someone posted how many pumps it took to fill a rapid and it was a lot. Hopefully restrictions ease then plan for a meal out somewhere while getting your bottle filled, unless you shoot a lot it probably won't be that often you will need a 4 or 5ltr bottle filling and should still be manageable enough to get it in and out of the car.

Sounds as if you're better with the bottle rather than a pump, I would just factor in getting your bottle filled when going near the dive shop? But @bruno22rf did mention that a pump was available from Amazon at £15, at that price you could take a chance and see how you get on?

Only thing I do different is screenshot the picture I want because its then a smaller file so uploads easier.

I'm on the American oak at the moment, it's very nice 😁 a nice easy drinking whisky, I'll keep an eye out for the three wood.

One person checking on her parents is hardly news is it? Rita Ora apparently had a birthday party with 16 friends, where was her lynch mob? In her case I'd have liked to have seen a big fine or the likes of ITV sack her as an example.

Found it a bit dull after yesterday's Scotland Wales game. Wherever Shaun Edwards goes the defence steps it up two notches. And I find it funny that the losing teams seem to play their best rugby when the clock goes red.

And your own team raked you out of the way!! I think they need to make it so you have to stop at the breakdown, then you can clear out, it seems to be the coming from distance they don't like?

I've only ever had a muppet shoot over my ferrets years ago, I think he was just a rough shooter who had turned up at the farm, stood right over the nets and wouldn't shut up, telling me I didn't need to put nets down as he'd shoot what bolted? I don't recall him hitting anything, bolting bunnies take some good shooting to hit.
