It's awful no other way to put it, it won't make it easier but i wouldn't leave it to long. My old boy was put to sleep in the back off my car, which was nicer than being in the vets i thought, didn't realise you need to sign a few forms and payment on the day. We had a walk in the morning then went to the end of the morning session at the vets. While i was a blubbering mess, the kids on the other hand were fine.

Another thought hamster, have you tried baiting the rats to a spot that suits you? You could get yourself a fishing catapult and load an area up with sweet corn or casters, might give you more chance of shots?

never shot the caliber but I would think no, shooting in the direction of people is always going to be a bad idea.

certainly seems a strange one to get such large numbers suddenly traveling into your areas. Do you think their coming from an area that isn't shot or trapped on? Is there a lot of forestry work going on which may have driven them out? 50 squirrels between just two of you seems a lot of squirrels on the move.

I'm sure if you were used to the old style it is strange, but it's lots easier now to post pictures, you have missed some great threads such as walkers knife auction and the making of it, with lots of pictures banter and stitches. I'm on a couple of other sites but find PW much easier to use and find things. Quite a few folk disappeared with the update, but some have come back.

Do you need a reason in Scotland? If so and you shoot clays ask them to put up a target and use it with your lads as you say. Considering how much money Scotland makes from shooting restrictions on seems crazy.
