  5. Read a post a bit back about Whitby knives saying they gave a really good service could be worth a phone call?
  6. I suppose with an older house you know what the area is going to look like, the last time we moved was because we were having a look how the b-i-L house looked and what he was moving too. I thought with you asking about auctions elsewhere it was an investment, do you think it will be a forever house? With new build its a clean slate not getting other peoples bad diy and if there are problems the house is under warranty. Normally once the site is finished the prices jump up but not guaranteed also if its a big build then you may have to live on a building site for sometime. You also don't tend to get big gardens or the instant wow of curb appeal but it will develope over time. Guess it will come down to where in the country you are me and the missus enjoy watching most of the house and diy progs and it always amazes us the price difference from one area to another. Good luck
  7. I would look at the number of houses being built and the spacing as much as anything my brother in law is in a new build and needed a few bits sorting but not much but it was only 8 houses I think added to an already established street, That's the thing I don't like about new builds it the way they sometimes cram them in, but as your looking at investment its just long term selling on that would concern me.
  8. Ha ha keep letting one run off if he keeps bringing back another 5 pals 👌
  9. Super goose, don't shout at me but I have never heard of BB, can you recommend a couple of books to look for, would the library have them? Can't now think of the author but I read a book about catching baby eels a while back and it was a great read about his life and the rivers so I like it when a good read comes along unexpected Thanks

Probably mean lots of pics but what else do you have? My little girl was holding a python last week at Astley park Chorley and loved it. Was it a spider blocking your draw?

  20. Hi trajectory, think you will pleasantly surprised by how good some air rifle scopes are these days, I have a tasco varmint 6*24 and it is lovely and clear but probably 10 years old at least. Have a read through the airgun section there have been quite a few scope threads going and I doubt you need a zeiss scope on an air rifle unless you already had one or picked up a bargain, there are plenty options about, and welcome. first for me!

Went up to Clitheroe castle yesterday very nice visit with the kids paid for a yearly pass £20 for there and four other museums really good displays in there, didn't realise how big otters are showing stuffed animals birds kids loved it. Now before we went in on the way up thought I saw a crow with a sparrow, me and little lad followed along then realised it was a thrush, thought it was a chick but only the male was mobbing the crow to no effect so it could have been the female it was hard to tell. The crow simply hopped about with the thrush in its beak plucking and hammering it as went from branch to branch, can only describe it as death by jack hammer. I have seen magpies take chicks out of nests and chasing small birds but wouldn't have thought a crow could catch a female thrush. Little lad was mesmerized watching then telling mum all about it.
