  1. ex fitter here use marsh mans advice with the underlay. always under half price of what shops retail. also if your using underlay you'll need gripper rods. From the shop they charge £1 a metre / online you'll buy a box of 120 metres for under £30. if you've uneven floorboards upstairs I'd also use a cheaper underlay as it will make the backing of the carpet last longer/thus carpet lasting longer. Or get a feltback carpet with a extra thick backing ( usually carpet right do very cheap loop pile felt back with very thick backings for £5-8 pm). Also good for insulation (sound and heating) Most fitters I've ever worked with charge fitting of £2.50-3.50 per metre with a minimum job cost of £50 otherwise it wasnt worth the drive to the job. To sum it up - go to a shop, see what you like then order it online. Oh and don't use carpet right as the all in one, rubbish customer service.
  2. I done this on old tools. on Google it said to add bicarb soda too. kind of worked but it did kill the car charger in the end. but tbh I think it would work but I wouldn't do it to any gun I own
  3. if it's the guy in the guns section on about hatsan or mossburg his names nnorman32 told him to buy one of these as I own one. excellent guns
  4. I done that with one of my dads12 bore cartridge. Used tape to keep it on.Took the front sights off my smk b45-3. Also found a box of .22rf. Knew they were rim fire so put them in a pair of pliers and in my brain wave thought I could aim it and smack it with a hammer. Took about 10 shots to realise that was a **** idea. Rural west Wales. We were dodgy kids From what I recall too was not much bang with the 12 bore cartridge. Still outright dangerous and would of been the leather belt on the *** had he known
  5. Ags pcr-1. I really had high hopes for it. I mean I bought it new for the extortionate price of £300. Inaccurate cheap nasty leaking junk. And I mean this - my smk b2 which cost £20 from the fair when it came to town was better built, more accurate and lasted longer. 2nd worst Edgar brothers mod 60 (hatsan) grouped like my escort I had! Just bought a secondhand g10 at the Wiltshire game/country show. I can see now as kids why we didn't run too fast, the bb wouldn't catch up and hit us
  6. Gonna be honest I've not had a centerfire for 5+ years. All I can remember was my HD was about £70-80 and in all fairness excellent for what I needed and the kahles 600 new. I'm guessing that on ****bay you could get one second hand for 150+ now. Remember it's not the target that needs to be crystal it's the potental backstop. Go further than you think if that makes sense
  7. Had a Hawke sport HD on the .223 bsa and was ok. Personally I'd go for better on a .308 like a kahles. Look for second hand in the same price range. Excellent optics
  8. It could nearly be a baikal the way it's built. I've never taken it apart in the time I've owned it. Think 10 years. Most people would cry but if it ain' broke don't fix it. I'll ask the pump section too one day but seeing as there are a few owners on this thread is there any diagrams or step by step to strip the 79? Can't find any via google/youtube
  9. +1 They are massive areas up there but there are shots/keepers who know it like the back of their hand
  10. I don't like monkeys or rats so Friday nights in with beer and 'tube on - happy days
  11. I can't fault it. I do enjoy getting the ugly beaten up pig out and keeping up with the boys. But all in all its not about the looks it's about what fits, what works and what you 'click' with. I'll post some pics over the weekend
  12. Cracking for a free service. Still don't know what half it means tho
  13. I've a shop set up 100ltr with internal filters. Easy to maintain and tbh cheap. Its not a pets at home job but a local garden center and gravel, tank, filter, heater and stand £200.
  14. Sign up to aurorawatch.lancs.ac.uk They will give you a email when its likely to be visible. Well worth joining up to
  15. I think it looks better and its certainly easier to use via mobile for me. But then again I've been a lurker for years
  16. Gone from 700acres to no acres. Should of stayed in wales...

  17. Don't laugh My only 12 is the totally awesome savage Stevens mod79. Best £25 I've ever spent. Its so rough I couldn't part with it. Looking at buying another to have a matching pair
  18. great bikes, comfy last forever and good torque. mine had over 160000 on it before it died a smokey death
  19. ex fitter here. when I was on it we would charge £3.50 a meter and that included fitting of underlay, grippers, doorbars (doorbars not included) removal and replacement of furniture and the fitting. this delivery lark is a load of tosh. don't know how they can justify that as all decent fitters would bring it straight from the shop. we were expensive compared to others but our competing fitters worked for carpet right and they had lousy reps. it wasn't really their fault, just they would book jobs in for their fitters and not pass it down the line. customers would wait months in some cases. want my advice - buy it all online, get a independant fitter and ask if his price includes picking the carpet up. and most fitters no matter how small the job charge a minimum of £50. remember as a fitter one cock up could cost me hundreds to replace a carpet especially if you buy a nice wool at £20+ a square meter
