  1. Grand master Sir Kier Starmer playing a discovered attack whilst BoJo is looking for his first “jump”. Kier Starmer in a win-win position. Public option and scientific advice is for two week lock down across the UK. Government bottles it. KS gives a proper grown up press conference within 24hrs to demand a lockdown. Option A - no lockdown, Covid certainly rises. KS “proved right” and appears to the nation as the “man with the plan”. Option B - Gov announce lockdown, KS “proved right” and appears to the nation as the “man with the plan”. I just can’t see an alternative. I loathe the thought of a Labour government as the masses are baying to destroy our sport and heritage, but this bloke Starmer is going to need a better man than Boris to be beat.

Glyphosate from agricultural supplier is only second to agent orange as a defoliant.
  3. I have commented on her in other threads being as bad as Cummings, I would have name checked her here but couldn’t recall her name. I also called for Kinnock to be expelled and fined in previous threads. So to assume I have an agenda is way, way off the mark. We can argue about the semantics of Cummings breaking the rules all day, however what he did undermined public confidence and adherence to any rules and so he has personally put 100,000s if not 1,000,000s of people at risk. There are people who died because of Cummings. I don’t care about press parked outside his house, frankly if he had been lynched I would not have shed a tear. These students put a few hundred people at risk and what they did was stupid in the extreme but not contemptuous for society like Cummings. I am brought up that you lead from the front.

Granite setts. Everything else is a cheap imitation.
  6. They should make sure Dominic Cummings pays his fine first... My cousin died of CV-19, she has left two daughters. So I’m not flippant but I think vilifying the young and naive whilst those in power can do as they please is ridiculous.
  7. It’s not illegal but it could make you liable if a trespasser or someone with an implicit right of access was injured. You can discharge that liability by sufficiently warning of any danger.
  8. You know you have made it in life when your Wheelie bin doesn’t need to be numbered 🤣
  9. There will be many similar minded. Johnson has made a dog’s dinner of his ill fated premiership thus far, but almost everything and everyone has been against him. In what should be a moment of national unity we have Wales and Scotland showboating on the sidelines. To be fair to Kier Starmer he has done a decent job of making Labour look helpful rather than deliberately contrary, certainly they have not been attacking the government and one can only assume that is through valour rather than incompetence.
  10. Mine are insured and the costs are eye watering. There have been some expensive operations due to injuries down the years. Can’t recall a single illness, all injuries from working. Expensive hobby.
  11. I’m going to make a wild prediction, given unlimited time and resources the survey is still going to be a shambles.
  12. Agree, but it is a matter of degree. Personally I would have both at the lynching tree.
  13. Check with the retailer as many have extended returns due to CV-19. Size 4 are 7 sizes too small for me sadly.
  14. I have viewed this but live 100s of miles away and have no interest or access to ratting.
  15. https://www.thenational.scot/news/18765918.downing-street-refuses-call-mp-margaret-ferrier-resign/ She is awful but no worse than Cummings. What an absolute disgrace both are. Ok slightly worse than Cummings but it is only a matter of degree.
  16. In an ideal world we could afford limitless money and resources to save each life. Unfortunately we are not there yet. Society has to make hard choices, politicians have to be prepared to deal with the consequences of their value judgement- the same as a general sending troops into battle. Over 65s and those shielding being told and supported to self isolate indefinitely seems reasonable. Wearing masks in indoor / covered / crowded public places seems reasonable. If you have the virus then self isolating seems reasonable. But some of the other restrictions, “local lockdowns” etc just seem to be killing companies and the economy on a much larger scale than they are saving lives. I don’t have the answer, no one does. My opinion is just that the dial has moved too far in one direction.
  17. Apologies, I realise I misread and misunderstood your message. You can understand the rules and want to obey them but now they have been changed so frequently the message is diluted and confusing. I am affected by different rules in different local lock downs in different countries. My 15 minute drive to my shoot sees me pass through 3 sets of criteria. There was a stage when in Wales you didn’t wear masks in shops etc. I have tended to side with caution but will admit I have become lazy and just make a stab at what I remember the rules to be be rather than checking them frequently. The rules in lock down areas seems to change weekly. For the majority of England it has been pretty straightforward. The mistake was to not get the Welsh and Scottish onboard to agree a system from day one. They are now deliberately going down different routes purely to score political points.
  18. Absurd. The only man I know of who is still alive and fought in WW2 (a relative) is in his mid 90s and has been in full isolation the whole time anyway.

Yes it is. The state has put a lot of effort and money into making you a productive member of society for the first 20 odd years of your life. Each early death of working age citizens hits our GDP.
  20. I feel that so many of the Covid measures are for show and have no perceptible benefit to reducing the transmission of the virus. People want to be seen to be doing something. Personally I would take an envelope and a tip, follow the keeper’s lead if he shakes your hand then tip in the normal way. If not then pop the tip in an envelope with your details and a simple message of thanks then place it wherever seems appropriate for their collection.
  21. Gun fit isn’t just arm length, e.g. the longer your neck and more athletic your build the longer LOP required.

    Cyclist

Volunteering for some flack here, I would like airguns licensed and not bicycles. However from my office yesterday I saw over 25 cyclists cycling on the pavement at high speed. The vigilante in me wants to throw them under a truck but society has civilised me enough to know that is not acceptable or proportionate. It is the impunity with which cyclists break the law and endanger the public which upsets people.
  23. Should be double trigger on the straight stocks to look and feel right though. I don’t like half way houses.
