  1. With respect to pre mount. You should get a few lessons with a coach and also practice your mount in the mirror or a just a room with an empty gun. You do not need to pull the trigger to practice your mount.
  2. 6, 11, 12, 15 & 18 Just looking for a bargain for an air rifle
  3. I have both eyes open until my cheek touches the comb and then my left eye squints. I have central dominance and if I don’t do this I see two beads/sets of barrels neither of which is on track. My cheek only touches the comb momentarily, never pre mounted. If I have my gun in shoulder for a long time I tend to lift my head off the stock to get a better view... which ruins any subsequent shots. For me the fluid move towards mount is part of the swing.
  4. And in answer to your original question, our vet is always very careful before operations to explain that the fees may vary. Generally I do not think it is good but practice to use a general anaesthetic just to brush teeth.
  5. Sorry, should have been more helpful. I am glad your sister’s dog is giving her joy and exercise. What is it’s normal food? Dry kibble is better for their teeth. I feed meaty bones, non weight bearing bones from pigs or sheep. Even a lap dog should want to strip the meat off them?
  6. It could end up being quite expensive as he is a growing lad and will fill out quickly. I would recommend https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bisley-Adjustable-Shoulder-Buttplate-Shotgun/dp/B007WFJY3K to add LOP and also second the cardboard with electrical tape for the comb. Weight and balance is important too, get him on the dumbbells and also put a little lead in the stock cavity if it is front heavy. If you hold a sledge hammer by the end of the shaft it is very hard to use it to point, if you hold it by the head you can wave it effortlessly. There is a good Ben Hustweight video on gun fit for young shots on Fieldsports British. If you have the cash see a professional gun fitter. When I’m rich that’s what I’ll do.
  7. I have never had to clean teeth, bath or brush a dog. Sometimes you make your own problems out of choice.
  8. Sorry, been away on holiday. Still looking. PM me the prices
  9. Debit card should take 1-3 days to replace at zero cost. I wouldn’t worry. Open a beer and sit in the garden to enjoy the evening.
  10. He’s keen. I’ll send you a PM to arrange payment 👍
  11. Think my brother in law would like this! I’ll message him now.
  12. Have you seen the video from the hotel in America? Pretty much ‘Simon says’ then execution.
  13. Good on BASC, great front cover.
  14. Excellent, hope you both get to spend tome together enjoying the hobby
  15. My father employed a Welsh architect, he had a wife and young children. His wife was diagnosed with and then died from pancreatic cancer. My father gave him unlimited fully paid leave, he took over 3 months off and the other 3 months were not very productive. It was fine, who would be in his position or could judge? After her death he was obviously very absent. The guy asked my dad not to attend the funeral, which he had enquired about. Anyway, a few months later he was hooked up with a another woman and his wife’s life insurance came through. The welsh architect handed in his notice, and went. It personally cost my dad about £25/30,000 in salary but he was fine with it. Any way, a couple of years later my brother spotted a public social media post from that idiot welsh architect naming my dad as a bad employer! My brother was livid and I could have throttled the guy, but my dad still said grief is a weird thing. I’m now the boss and have zero compassion, people have taken the mick so it hardens your heart.
  16. I didn’t want to be the one to break this to you but there is a global pandemic 🤣
  17. I would buy second hand personally to avoid losing money, especially if you do not get on with a side by side you have lost nothing. Conversely if you shoot well with it and want to upgrade in a few years, again you will not have lost money on it.
  18. Completely forgot, let me send you the cash today! My wife does the bank transfers. Apologies. Oh it was PayPal wasn’t it? I don’t have an account. Can I just send you the cash by bank transfer? PM me your details and I’ll send over. I bought a Beretta off here from @Velocette so he’s got my details that I’m not a hacker.
  19. Interesting point. Not quite as globetrotting but I once lived in Manchester, my sister called me as she thought there was a burglar in her house. I went over but nothing, then the next day discovered there had been a minor tremor.
  20. Reading this thread I thought it would concern me to take mind altering drugs with weapons in the house, but then I cracked open a cold beer and relaxed.
  21. One farmer on a permission was saying his winter wheat was a disaster this year. The waterlogged ground over the entire winter killed a lot of the low patches then the drought in April to May killed a lot of the high patches. He redrilled with barley on some of the failed patches in spring and that had done much better. His maize looks good but that’s because the late season weather has been much better that the early season weather.
