MerseaDavid
I would highly recommend Eley HP pigeon catridges 6 shot 32 gram. Or if you want to stick with 30 gram shells I would recommend Eley realtree cartridges They work really well and kill clean

wymberley
Hi, Teal, I've used Rotweil for 30 years on and off and never a problem. I don't now though because of the cost (euro/£ exchange rate). Their 6.5 (2.5mm) shot size is ideal for pigeon. Cheers

utectok
D&j are ok but dirty jammers is their nickname for me I'll shoot them but prefer most other carts That's my opinion anyhow Edited October 7, 2009 by utectok
EastSussexLad
nothing wrong with d@j carts, they hit very well. I bought 500 of these and put all 500 through my escort fine... they were a nice cart tbh.
Billy.
I don't get the 'good cartridge' 'bad cartridge' thing... Two (different company) size 6, 32gm cartridges will do exactly the same thing. The good or bad shot is entirely down to the person pulling the trigger. You have wadding powder and hardness of shot which all vary cart to cart not huge but it affects pattern and feel IMHO

Going by your "running total" for all you shoot in a year you are unlikely to fire enough shots to tell the difference.............. Try some RC Sipe 5's at pigeons and see the differance in the way they die especialy at the limit of your range...... Billy.
Going by your "running total" for all you shoot in a year you are unlikely to fire enough shots to tell the difference.............. I'll have you know that as I work 9am-7pm, Monday to Friday and I travel to Nottingham most weekends, I have very little time to go shooting. I forgot to put my "running total of shots fired" but I don't think the ratio is that bad. The vast majority of pigeons I have shot have been whilst out walking the dog, so it's nothing to do with not hitting anything and more down to not going out enough. However, thank you for highlighting that if I have a very low kill count for the year, must then mean I can't tell the difference between two cartridges. George1990
I notice quite a difference when pigeon shooting, but not on clays. I haven't used a vast variety of cartridges as they last me a long time, but a fair few. Both RC SIPE 32g 6 and RC 1 28g 7 1/2 seem to hit very hard. Am using 32g 5 Fiocchi at the moment and although they are a heavy cartridge, they don't seem bring te pigeons down so well, though are nicer to shoot. Bit less punchy. Gamebore's Clear Pigeon were a nice all rounder. Want to get some Eley next
