apache
However thinking about it, say for a tenner would u buy a product that turned a cordless drill into a corded one just so u could still keep using? As a much cheaper alternative than buying a battery, or would u just splash out on a new battery? I'd buy it, if it was quite cheap!

MPT1
most dewalt cordless tools a s-hite get panasonic DeWalt tools are not as you say And Panasonic make the switch/ trigger mechanisms for most brands and buy in other parts largely from other manufacturers for their products. MC
A device to turn a cordless tool into a corded one is a bloody good idea I think I must ring the patents office right now. I would buy one for a tenner, nowever you would need to make several different adaptors and voltages.

Curly87
A device to turn a cordless tool into a corded one is a bloody good idea I think I must ring the patents office right now. I would buy one for a tenner, nowever you would need to make several different adaptors and voltages. This is pretty much one of the ideas, a device that you can plug into the wall and use the tool off mains power but then when you need to you can quickly unplug it and just use the battery. My thinking is a lot of the time when using a cordless tool it doesnt actually have to be cordless as you are next to mains power anyway. Even if you did this 50% of the time it would make the battery life of the tool 50% longer until it gets knackard. which would therefore save you 50 quid for not having to buy a new battery, thats if the batt costs 100 pounds to start with. So do you think that a lot of the time you could still be using a corded tool, and cordless has just benn the tend to follow now? Or when you use a cordless tool it is the only option? Maybe that applies more to the domestic market rather than the trade, as i can see trade poeple having to work out on sites that dont have easy access power. Overall however i think making a cordless tool corded would be quite a hard marketing pitch!! Cheers for all the feedback people and for taking the survey! Much help!! njc110381
I think some kind of power adaptor would be a great idea. Some of the time when I'm using my drills I don't need them to be cordless, I just don't see the point in taking two drills. On another note if all you'r batteries have died or are on charge, a corded drill is better than no drill
