Billy.
I nearly wet myself when I watched the bit where the guy is spotting for the X5 going through the stream at the beginning. Oh and if the X5 is so good, why's there a Defender 110 at the end Watch and laugh: name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>"> name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="480" height="385">
Vipa
Ohh sweet jesus...... the 'road' to the farm where I stalk is more testing than that!!!!! And yes.... my monitor is now covered in tea that I spat out when I saw the stream crossing excersize.... my wife's mobility scooter would have made it through there unaided!!!!! They hadn't even bothered to swap the road tyres out for something maybe a little more suitable..... absolutely pathetic!!!! J@mes
My work van copes better than that. And snatch recover without a snatch line? no thanks!
notsosureshot
All very well and good until you get the repair bill or need to replace the alloys. X5 owners should stick to the spray on mud me thinks
Lez325
Top Gear did an article on the X5, off road it was pants- my old Isuzu Trooper would wipe the floor with one off road and cost me a hell of a lots less too Les
Mungler
Some very fragile, fast and expensive road cars driving through some puddles. 17 seconds in and the "guiding" through the "river"..... well that really set the scene didn't it. Dougy
My punto's been in worse places than that
JonnyR
I wouldn't take my Touareg through that river - way too deep!
Chard
I think my VW Polo Panzerkampfwagen would have handled most of that OK. The only bit I haven't tried is the sand dunes Achtung baby
alexr
Worst thing is some people will believe this.... The river fording bit made me laugh. What is the maximum fording depth on an X5?.......3 cm?
George1990
I'm sure some of those puddles reached 4 or even 5 centimetres. With that sort of ground clearance anything is possible. Any car could have done what they just did, apart from go up that slope maybe.
trxnav
i think my 8 month old daughter in her baby walker could of done that course easier and like said they cant even be bothered to change to a/t tyres they stick to road tyres that just shows they know nothing. al4x
I just about managed 90 yesterday when I was on the way to Bishops Stortford blimey must have been a steep downhill run, was the fuel economy down to single digits

UKPoacher
I'd like to see that overpriced Teutonic posemobile cope with the tracks I use to go fishing in Cyprus In fact some of the main roads out there are rougher than that BMW route

Frenchieboy
I want an X5 just in case I come across a puddle of Rhimo Pee that I need to drive through. In the mean time I think I will stick to me little Frontera, it goes through all types of mud, water and sheet, and it doesn't mind getting dirty! al4x
This is how to cross a stream. am I the only one who would class that as gross stupidity taking a new landy that deep when you just know its going to start filling with water as the door seals will be lacking just shows more money than sense
