Please join me in airing problems with the above mentioned company.

We have a mechanical and electrical company which has 3 telephone lines and a broadband line. We have had this service with bt for god knows how many years.

I have been setting up some new services for renewable energies and decided to get a freephone number. I spoke to BT and they sorted this in no time, they then phoned me to say i should have a 'onebill' account where all my services are billed as one and i could save about £30 a month. I said ok and they said i didnt have to do anything and it was a simple press of a button at their end.

A month later we came in to work and we had no telephone service, I spoke to BT who said that because they never received confirmation of the 'onebill' service they cancelled the order! An order which i dont remember placing and have received no information about! They never sent me a form to sign which they have now accepted is true and they did their best to get the lines back on.

Their best was two failed orders and 2 weeks without telephone services. I dont know about other guys in the building trade but if you cant get hold of one of your contractors it doesnt look good at this moment in time.

Anyway now we have 1 line connected and i have had to place another order to get the other 2 lines back on. Problems solved.....no!

Today i have come in and they have turned my Email service off, i have asked them about it and they say because they had to re-order my broadband so i can get my 2 new lines on my broadband number! Wait a minute, i think my 2 new lines were for my telephone not my broadband, BT's answer "o were they???"

34 minute phone call this morning, 3 different people, 2 new orders placed for a service i have had for god knows how long, only to get get cut off and still no1 has phoned me back!!!!!

Now i dunno what to do, I'm thinking about driving to one of their limited english call centres and getting drunk and high with the rest of their staff!!!!!

Keep ringing them back and complain, complain, complain. If you go on for long enough, they start giving you stuff for free.

Just keep telling them about your bad experience with BT. They eventually give in. (I got 3 months free line rental  )

Was with BT for years, then they got all shirty with thier invoicing so we went elsewhere. Been with Virgin (dont even go there) Talk Talk, and a few others. They all start out by offering you the deal of the century but once the "honeymoon period" is over they don thier masks jump on the horses and hit the highways.

Virgin is one that springs to mind. When you sign up with them everything is rosey, what they neglect to tell you is that you have been set a credit limit, ours was £90. Go one single penny over that and they cut you off. Phone email the lot.

Back with BT now and so far touch plastic, everything is fine................for now.

All you can do is ask to speak to either a manager or about lodging a complaint. Then get it in writing, this will be affecting your business and make it well known that they have cocked up and that you will be seeking damages if it continues. Assuming all the lines are in place they should if the will is there be able to sort it out pretty fast. BT are usually faster than most when you have a problem but these kind of problems can escalate. Lets face it inless you have a cable option then you are stuck with BT or someone using their network and in that case they are still reliant on BT to sort the Installation out.

I've had issues with EON with my business for a year and a bit now trying to stick a bill for a wrong meter on us. I've taken to laughing every time they call and just nicely telling the person trying to collect the 30K bill that I will be sending them a bill for my time if they continue to use the wrong meter number and I have to keep calling to sort it out. 15 months on still no closer to sorting it out

Ask who the Chairman of BT is - -- then send him an email - their address is usually his firstname.secondname@bt.com

You will usually get a phone call within hours of him receiving email -- explain your problem concisely with date's and times

could be this guy - it was in 2009 Michael.Rake@bt.uk.com - this is another number that came up but again 1 yr old 0800 731 2762

These are all top BT people http://www.btplc.com/Thegroup/Ourcompany/Theboard/index.htm

I am in the process of moving my business lines from BT.

The reason why.

One morning i could only accept calls in but could not make calls. I phoned BT and i was told it was because i had not paid my bill. I said sorry and said i would pay right away over the phone with a card, then i remembered i pay by Direct Debit. When i mentioned this they were very surprised but agreed to take off the late payment charges, good of them because they did not take the money  Anyway it still took them 3 days to get everything working as it should. Very poor when it was thier fault in the first place.

I switched from BT about 10 years ago because of a dispute. When i bought this house it still had its original timber external doors to which the telephone cable went through the door jam instead of the brickwork.I phoned BT to ask them to move the cable as i was having the doors replaced with UPVC and they said i'd be charged £55+ VAT per hour.My arguement was that the cable should never have been put through here and therefore its their problem, but they wouldnt back down.

So i moved over to NTL which is now Virgin and never had an ounce of problems.

 if you send me your contact number via a PM I may be able to help out here - I'm a BT employee and could get the right department to contact you & resolve the issue -

I've had all kinds of problems with BT and the ISDN line (switching the wrong numbers off is one!), you can claim compensation as its business related.

Complain to Ofcom, they will give BT a kick up the **** which should speed things up!

So after placing 2 orders for new broadband i then spoke 2 someone who said "new broadband, why all we have to do is turn your email address back on because all your other ones are working fine"

They have told me they will cancel my order but ill post a comment here when the new Hub turns up lol

As for my other two lines who knows!

Have just gone back to BT after many years due to the alternative that I had being an even bigger gang of clowns. The order for line + broadband was cocked up from the very beginning and took many calls to resolve, eventually we are connected and receiving 7MB down the same line that had previously only been giving 500kB. My one problem in connecting was very efficiently solved by a very nice lady who I suspect was based on the sub continent however she could also have been in Hounslow.

So far, so good.

Oh, and I'm still receiving e-mail via the old provider's address, I wonder how long it'll take them to completely disconnect me? The direct debit HAS been cancelled.
