gixer1
Yup, if there is no question and under certain circumstances then I say yes. DSPUK
What about that lad from Buxton way who confessed to killing a girl - he had learning difficulties and forever protested his innocence which he was found in end - I was all for death penalty but it has to be 110% certain that the convicted person did crime. poontang
It'll never be voted back in this country Unless, of course we embrace and accept Sharia law

ack-ack
I haven't got enough faith in our legal system to endorse the death penalty. I can only assume the MPs are talikng about it as they want to slip something through under the radar whilst we are all pointlessly discussing it. It will never be reintroduced. ME
This one has been done to death on here before. I predict 2 to 3 pages of ill informed "hang em all" followed by a row and the thread gets pulled. Move along nothing to see here
kdubya
whilst I would love to see the likes of the animal that killed Milly Dowler swing, I don't trust plod enough to get it right every time, far far to often in the past have they gone for the wrong person, Stephan Kisko being a classic example, he would have swung for something he could not possibly have done and plod KNEW it before he was found gulity? so sorry I could never support the death penalty. imissalot
proved with out do wt eye for an eye murder = death penalty rape= chop the nuts of theft= thumb or hand of kiddie fiddling in any way =stoned to death buy the relatives
four-wheel-drive
I'm all for it the only problem is they will say that only people who are not mentally ill could be hung this means the person who dose an armed robbery and the gun goes off and kills some one will be hung but the sicko who kills for pleasure they will say he/she must be mentally ill or they would not do such things will end up in hospital like they do now so we will still have to keep the ********. deputy dog
All 110% proof convicted child rapists or rapists of men an women, then they should be hung, drawn an quartered or bodies given to medical science. As for the rest of the people who have taken life for what ever reason, if the seriousness of the crime is sufficient to warrent the death penalty and their 110% right in finding them guilty, then hanging should be adequate for them . As for thieves an other undisirables, then a ******* good hammering off the people they have wronged should be well in order and for every time they reoffend an get caught, the same treatment. That should make them think twice about doing it again. DD Edited August 4, 2011 by deputy dog

Pushkin
Sigh! Well doesn't that sound great for the anti's to hear all the shoot em up brigade going on about killing people off When I was a lot younger I had great faith that convictions were sound and the ends justified. Nowadays I tend to take life with a large pinch of salt as regards "evidence shows" when most of the evidence is insubstantial. I for one would not like to take my turn on pressing the button for anyone who got the death sentence - but I'm sure some folks on here would be happy to do so going by some of the posts so far I reckon 3 pages - maximum 4 before it gets withdrawn Pushkin B)
Raja Clavata
May I suggest pro death penalty arguments would be a tiny bit more credible if they were not accompanied by citing certainties which exceed 100%? Quoting such figures hardly portrays evidence of a well thought out argument.
billytheghillie
why should it get withdrawn? it is a reasonable subject to discuss on the forum.
