PW_BADGE & COWHORN_STICKHEAD.

I got a couple of Horns off one the Farmers on our permissions not long ago, & couldn't decide what to do with them till the other day, especially looking at them in the photo below.

Seen some pictures in a few books I have, so decided on what's in the photo's below, with a little highlight of the PW Badge. It took an age to get the Horn like this, & very time consuming using the Water Clear Resin, letting it dry, then Shaping, Polishing etc.

Cut it to length, hollowed out the inside, then made a Brass Plate for the Top. Soldered a piece of Copper Wire on the inside, then filled the interior with some Water Glass Resin about 1" deep, & let it set.

Next I cut a length of 10mm Stud, aprox 4" Long, placed it inside the Horn, then filled the cavity with the Resin for a solid fit.

Another Two Brass Plates, along with a Buffalo Horn Spacer, same as before with the Resin, then allowed to set, at least 24hrs.

Then sanded down to the approximate size ready for finishing. Drilled a small hole for the pin on the PW Badge to centralize it on the top. Wrapped electrical tape around the head dia to make it bigger. A piece of stiff cardboard to make a cup to pour the Resin in, aprox 3/4" deep, then leave for 24hrs.

After that, sand it to a dome shape, & start the laborious task of the polishing.

Overall, I was pleased with the result, I wasn't expecting this to turn out the way it did.
