Willxx
Congrats - I'd love to get something similar but I'm not holding out much hope reallly - I'm sure they've messed up my tax code for years but any cock up will only be important if its in their favour!! harry flashman
Same they made me do a self assessment for first time and turns out they owed me. Which was nice.
artschool
My wife got a refund. The cheque turned up the next day. It's a bit like going to a shop and the cashier keeping your change, then having a guilty conscience and returning it years later.

ack-ack
Two letters from HMRC addressed to the Mrs. I was eyeballing the swines for three hours (got a flyer today!!!! ). When she came in I frogmarched her to the letters and made her open them. One letter was a notification of a £950 rebate from 2007-08, the other was the cheque!! Hells teeth! Didn't expect that. Knowing my luck I'll be hit for a bill of the same before crimbarts Edited December 23, 2011 by ack-ack
V8landy
the other was the cheque!! I hope I get mine soon! Strange why they dont put the letter and cheque in the same envelope, thus saving on posting a cost ..siliy me that would be too sensible

AVB
I must be lucky. My tax return was submitted on 20 December. On 23rd bank account was credited with £4,555. Can't complain with that turnaround.
