Harnser
I most definitely am not . I have owned many ,many makes of guns over the years from Baikal's to browning . They have all served me well for what they are made for . I do have an eye for nice guns particularly the best English game guns from the illustrious makers who are house hold names in the shooting world . I would like to have a cabinet full of the best guns to use in the field and to enjoy and to let my friends use . Alas I dont have the bank balance to bring my dream to the fore . I think that many on here ,like me have managed to enjoy their shooting with the cheaper made value for money guns some time in our shooting careers . Yes it is nice to own prestige guns and I have a couple and it doesn't make me a gun snob as I would just as well shoot a Baikal as I would a Browning . Harnser . kent
It realy depends how you define it. I never hide the fact that i love CZ rifles but that doesn't mean i dont own some upmarket rifles. Would i take an expensive finely crafted Engligh sidelock out on a muddy saltmarsh? No Would i turn up at a driven grouse day with a battered and rusy old boxlock? probebly not! Does that make me a snob?

Does that make me a snob? just because other people would be there with the "posh" guns does not mean they shoot any better..so what if get "looked down on" would not bother me at all

Amazed
I will have to say I am very much way more than I can afford as well :( lol The annoying thing is I tend to do better with the cheep and cheerful guns than with my pride and joy lol

mickmep
bit of both for me, but even if theyre not expensive guns i like them to be in good condition. also my expensive is not best english expensive, but even my more modest collection has taken many hours working to fund. i do like the feel of a better quality gun with a nicer trigger, barrel selector and top lever, but have had some good days out with friends using cheap as chips pump actions. as for shooting with them i think that my best shooting scorewise has been with the sx3 flanigan that i had and sold to get a benelli supersport, which in all fairness is a much nicer gun but i dont think i really shoot it as well, but my brain decided the benelli must be a better gun so that was it. Not me...I can shoot a £80 pound baikal as badly or as well as a £80,000 Boss. Its just a piece of steel tube with a bit of wood at one end. Always makes me laugh when you see all these semi professional tarts at the clay ground with their matching apparel and they take a age taking the expensive gun out of its sleeve so you can all have a gander at it..and then they shoot like complete idiots... Blackpowder
Definately, starting around 1959 with an Army and Navy hammer gun cost £15, other than a brief flirtation with a Spanish box lock ejector that Army and Navy served me for 30 YEARS. Used that gun on the last two shoots of 2011-2012 season and killed three cracking birds. Upgraded to a Thomas Wild hammer gun for about ten years and only got rid because the barrels needed re- soldering. Today I own A &N as above, Robert Hughs boxlock non ejector, W.R. Pape boxlock ejector and the cream of the crop a 122 year old Dickson Round Action. No they dont make me a better shot but the smooth operation of a hand made gun, especially the Pape has to be experienced to be believed. Next season I hope the Dickson just back fro re-jointing will be equally smooth and give as much pleasure. Blackpowder

Chard
I'm not a gun snob, as I own a Baikal and think it's a great gun. However, I wouldn't have a Hatstand if you gave it to me  Cue the "chip on the shoulder" BS comments about never owning one blah-blah-blah

vole
My guns are definitely not those of a snob and my armoury contains a Hatsan pump action . I have ended up with a small number of guns that do the job and I do not worry about knocks . After all there is no one there to impress with an upmarket piece in the fields . I used to have a thing about Hardy fishing gear but got over it when the mortgage came along .

Always makes me laugh. Ahhh the inverted snob stance, if it doesn’t matter that you shoot good with a £80 Baikal then it doesn’t matter if you shoot bad with a £10000 Krieghoff. It wouldn’t embarrass me if you beat me with a £60 SBS as long as I shot to my ability, I would still go home and love owning my DT 10 and not wanting your gun. I like what I like, not bothered what others think, but I like to own nice things and I think my DT10 is nice. This last few weeks I have been enjoying shooting my considerably cheaper Semi Auto which I also think is nice otherwise I would not have bought them both. I had a £50 BSA, that was not nice, I still had fun with it but no longer own it. I am not a snob concerning other peoples guns or feel the more money spent means the better I will shoot, but I reserve the right to shoot bad with an expensive gun if I so wish. EdSolomons
Heres a radical thought; perhaps people own nice bits of kit beause they enjoy owning/using them; not to impress some prawn with a pump action with a chip on his shoulder!? ;-)
