Lancs Lad
Your results count for nothing................. And thats not me being negative.............Belive me, schooling is good, but A * grades mean nowt. I left school with 4 Es, 2 Ds and an F............I was in the lower sets of the education scale. It is all about how you put yourself forward, what you want to achieve in life, how you learn in the real world. I work for a company that hires graduates, I broke the mould. I was one of the very FEW people that were taken on without a degree. Why, because I had the will, determination and desire to succeed and learn in business. I now look after 43 offices throughout the whole North West Region, Im responsible for the development and maintenance of the branches, major corporate purchasing agreements, contract negotiation, buying toilet rolls to building a branch from ground zero...... Not bad for the teachers that said I wouldnt get anywhere in life.... Yep I have had my ups and downs.....I have made a few serious cock ups that have seen me on the other side of the fence (but only once). Lessons have been learnt. But I can tell you ONE thing for certain............Being a straight A student doesnt mean a thing.....I work with them........and do you know what, they couldnt wipe their own **** without getting **** on their fingers. Common sense. PRIDE. Determination, Confidence, Knowing what you want, Not giving up, When all around you are saying that you cant do it believe in YOURSELF. You will do it, you will succeed, you will fail.....but from your failiures you will learn..... Well done on getting your grades, Dont put him down and be-little the guy. I hope that you stick out your college course and get something out of it..............Enjoy it.......Lifes too short.... Learn and keep a sensible head on your shoulders................LISTEN...even though sometimes you wont want to............. NEVER GIVE UP ON YOUR DREAMS.................. Get in with a bloke called James who's the land agent - loads of rabbits on the campus See you in the Rose and Crown at some point P. Right PEDRO and FERRET boy Writtle college is it? In which case you have absolutly no excuse, whatsoever - get yourself involved in Essex Young Farmers! I am currently Vice-chair of Ongar club, there are also clubs near Writtle at Chelmsford and Brentwood but a good few of our members are or have been Writtle students. Fantastic fun, great socials, very good network of people to help you out, instant social life and really good fun. All of us that work or play in the Countryside also need all the help and support we can get and what better way of doing it than by supporting each other at the bar! :yp: Somebody also mentioned that we have the odd party (wouldn't know it wasn't me guv, never seen it) and dare I say it - stunning girls who also own wellies Would be more than happy to introduce you - or come and introduce yourself at the Barleylands show PM for more details Pike Cranfield - apologies for a shameless plug but we are a charity. p.s. where has Teal gone? Cranfield
Ferretboy 111, well done, but at your next exams, try even harder. I was also fortunate to have been very successful in business (retired at 51), without many formal qualifications, but the chances of doing that nowadays are reducing. The job/career market wants to see good qualifications, before most of them will even talk to you. Pike, what plug ? Teal is on holiday from College, but checks in all the time, he is sort of omnipresent.
