no it do not have the Fluer de Llys stamp i know about this one it dont have it on it what so ever so that go's to say it not steel proof like i said im thinking about wildfowling and maby need a gun just for that job so that hwere i was thinking bye bye berreta and come on the cheapo im far from a big brand man im more about how the gun feels and how its going to treat me by not falling to parnt and not breaking

if you want to rip yourself off and trade a decent gun gor a heap of cheap **** then thsts your choice but i will say that i think your mad lol. the hatsen is cheap it is rubbish and they dont cycle very well. ans it will break you can be sure of that

My only experience of Hatsans is what I've read on here, but have shot and owned one or two Berettas. My twopennerth worth is ARE YOU MAD!

Only joking. If you must PX it why don't you go for a model with a proven record with steel proof and the chamber length you want?

Like I said,I have no experience of Hatsans, but I personally wouldn't advise anyone to buy a Turkish made gun following the experiences a couple of my nephews mates are having with their Turkish made guns, neither of which are Hatsans I hasten to add.

Just to add my thoughts, I have a urika 2 and have never had a problem since I purchased a book on stripping them down from America, (dont think I can say without advertizing) and carried this out after every 400 carts, then I produced a manual an stripping down the gas valve, this is free and on line for all as a friend in the states hosted it on his server.SEE MY POSTS.

I have cycled 21grm carts through mine but mostly us 28s, Go get a urika 2 steel proofed and all the rest, and forget the Hatsan.

of course u could always make me an offer.

Recently bought the escort as a knock about gun, first impressions build quality not a patch on the likes of benelli etc, It does the job, don't mind bashing the stock like on the others, def would not trade in a gun likes of beretta's browning, benelli's etc for a escort. Its worth having as a second gun so that you don't want your main gun getting knocked about, ended up with a camo version.

I've know nothing about either gun but in true "internet expert" mode you should never buy a hatsan as they are the work of the devil

Must admit was thinking the same about them, now I have got one, for what they cost not too bad, cartridge fussy maybe (don't like soft cartridges), cheapish yes, worth it only users of it can tell, if you get one get the latest version with ext chokes. Will see what its like after I have gone through the winter with it.

Are you sure that the AL391 isn't steel proofed, I only question this because I owned the AL390 (1994 model) and that was proofed for steel.

Does it say 'SP' on any of the chokes?

my 2005 al391 was not steel proofed, the barrel needs to be steel proofed not just the choke,

If it was for finacial reasons I'd sell the beretta and go see what's in your local shops and get the best gun you can for what ever amount you want to spend, if that nds up been a hatsan so be it. I've owned two hatsans and their not that bad at all but I wouldn't set out with the intentions of getting rid of a beretta for a hatsan unless I was doing it to free up the cash.

its no wind up or im not sort of cash or the gun nacked it just i was thinking about getting a steel proof for the wildfowling thats coming up would by other gun but as i have 3 guns already and 4 friends guns that im looking after for quite awile while he gets his liscence return to him so cant store anymore guns at the moment so that thingink of the trade for a hatsan but would like to fire a hatsan first and what new semi i will be swaping for will have to ave no more than a 26inch barrel

I understand that mate I just thought that if they were making guns in 1994 that were steel proofed that the more modern ones would be too.

so your 1994 beretta has a Fluer de Llys stamp :hmm: ,it may be proofed for 3" magnum lead, most 2 3/4" chambered nitro proofed guns can be used with most 32gm size 4 or smaller steel shot cartridges,

There are many reasons why it may not have the Fleur-de-llys, however that doesnt meant it isnt capable of HP steel loads, just hasnt been proofed for it, if you like the gun then send it for steel proof or see if GMK will sell you a steel proof barrel.
