Weve had a Barby this afternoon and I had my old LP,s out and couldnt help sharing my top Guitarist from that era... The punk scene livened things up for the latter half of the decade but prior to that things were dismal. The whole reason the punk scene happened. Hmm Isley did his best work in the 80,s and that was an era when many British kids suffered from falling education standards ...many of them left school without even being able to read... My old stamping ground. Southend seafront, what a place. Get drunk and laid inside 50 yds. Not that I did of course, I'm not that sort of guy. Spent my formative years in Southend in the 60's and 70's. That was a time when you didn't have discos, it was all live bands, The Beatles at the Odeon, twice. First time as a support for Roy Orbison and the second time we had to queue up for 24 hrs to get tickets. The good old days, where are they now.
