.philmypower.
I would of thought you were a little early, I don't get mine usually until end of nov
al4x
picking them is a little early but if they aren't there they won't grow now. Its the same here the blossom got frosted and not many trees have fruited well, we have a few sloes but nothing compared to normal

PhilR
Not many sloes in South Northants either, the blackberries although pretty ripe are tiny in comparison to last year too.
leeds chimp
same round our way...think it might have been all the rain and washed the pollen off
Dunkield
Very poor year, glad I made loads last year.
WelshLamb
Damsons were early aswell this year. By the time I got to my Nan's (weston gamefair weekend) they had all dropped off the tree and rotted on the floor :(
marlin vs
Same here not one on the blackthorn's.

working dog
Our trees dont have a single sloe on. Last year they were loaded.
Thunderbird
I ran out of sloe gin ages ago and am naffed off. My local spot doesn't have a single berry. Off to pick some soon a bit further afield but where I know there are old vines that make wonderful sloe gin.
Reece
rubbish year for soft fruits - we lost all our plums this year and hazelnuts :( We lost cherries, plums, sloes, etc. But the hazelnuts were fine near us.
pegasus bridge
bushes that are usually loaded with them are bare near me. edit: aside from my own selfish need for sloes, its going to be a hard winter for lots of birds. oscarsdad
The bushes we got loads off last year have absolutely nothing on them this year. No sloe gin this year. :(
Blackpowder
Scarce around here but have a reserve supply in the freezer. I think a good crop of sloes depends on fair warm weather early in the year when the blossom is out. One of the best ever years for brambles though so have bramble vodka on the go just now. shotgun sam
none in Lanarkshire either I have not heard of anyone having any fruit this year (sloe, pears, apples, Plums etc)
yates
none in Lanarkshire either I have not heard of anyone having any fruit this year (sloe, pears, apples, Plums etc) No sloes this year but bumper plumbs on our tree plus loads of hazel nuts on trees near Doncaster/Rotherham. Must have been a bumper year for cannabis due to high numbers of cannabis factories dumped around here
