guest1957
Shove it on then nothing can go wrong. You are being open and honest. JonathanL will be along soon to tell you otherwise, but just pop it down.
ozzy518
I would still list that you have had a caution. If you can't remember the dates just say so. Your feo will already be aware of it and it could look like you're being dishonest by not declaring it.

simjakcal
if you were given a police caution,,it will be on their records ! so best to mention it on your application even if you carnt remember all the details. and then talk it over with the fao when you have your visit.. if youve been a good lad in the last 20yrs since the caution i wouldnt worry to much about it ! but then again whats ''i was ****** '' ? lol

Nikk
A caution is an admission of guilt and I believe they stay on your record for ever. Happy to be corrected on that. Definitely tell them because they will know for sure and then be forced to ask you awkward questions. Everyone makes mistakes but honesty and good character is the key. A caution is deemed to be spent as soon as you leave the nick after getting it. However it will always show on a records check

Wharf Rat
Tell them that you are a member of Pigeon Watch. Tell them that if they **** you about regarding your application, then the PW crack legal team will spring into action on your behalf. Once the police know the sort of legal muscle you have access to, I expect the Chief Constable will hand deliver your cert to you himself. Franchi Harrier
Yes you MUST declare it. I didn't declare it and another caution for having fog lights on when deemed not necessary and the FAO asked me why I didn't stipulate this? It's not had an impact but made me feel guilty about it too lol

It's not had an impact but made me feel guilty about it too lol There is no requirement to declare a caution, the form clearly asks you to state convictions, they are a separate thing altogether. However, I would advise anyone to put down a caution even though you aren't required to, as the police will know about it and it's better for you to be seen to declare everything, even if it's not a requirement. JonathanL
put it on mate when i sent mine off i said i had been in trouble but could not rember when and for what for and when i got a visit he said i was only getting mysgc as i had been honset Then he was talking utter rubbish. He was lying to you in order to big him self up and to intimidate you. Read the threads here; lots of people have been given the impression that they were lucky to get their cert after having failed to declare things that are not convictions but no one has ever been refused a cert for doing so. If they had refused anyone on that ground and the applicant appealed then the appeal would be successful as you had done everything required of you. The form requires you to declare convictions. Nothing else. J.
