What is your favourite shotgun and why?

just been out for a walk with my new mossberg hushpower 410, absolutely love it, nice light gun to carry, fitted a sling which makes rolling a fag a doddle, used plastic wads as others had said they work ok, and they were right,

so easy to load, alot easier than my 12g semi, and after a couple of test patterns, easy to aim

still smiling like a Cheshire cat

My 101 Diamond Grade I think. It just handles so well.Last 'driven' season I didn't miss a single bird with it,but it developed a misfire last Summer while shooting a few clays, and it was at the 'smiths until the week before this season started. When this season started I couldn't hit a thing with it;really frustrating, but getting back on track now.My best memories with this gun are a right and left at Greylags, a right and left at Woodcock but had taken the gun from my shoulder between shots, and twelve bolting bunnies with 12 consecutive shots including two lefts and rights, all witnessed.

While the 101 was at the 'smiths I used a Browning 2000,bought for about 350.00 from Malmo which I use as a general knocking about gun.It is fixed at 3/4 and I have really grown to love using it;its tight choke can bundle rabbits over (dead) at ranges I wouldn't consider with my 101.

I know it's detrimental to good shooting, but when I buy a gun I tend to shoot with it,forsaking all others, until I can shoot well with it,(spending a lot of time practising a dry mount in the mirror)which is probably why it takes a bit of practise to get back in the swing when I change back to another. Not best practise I know, but I like guns too much to just shoot with one.

My old Browning B325.

Got it relatively soon after they were introduced, I think I bought it late 1989.

I have had a few guns since and there have been periods where the 325 had little use.

However keep drifting back to it and can still shoot quite well with it (for a 65 year old!)

I once had a 1980s nikko 5200 26" sste, aparently a very rare shotgun, iv seen plenty of 500ll nikko's but never came across another 5200! I paid £200 for it in 2009 which was a bargain despite the fact that it did have a small split in the forend but i absolutely loved it, i won my first 50bird sporting with it , i know plenty on here do that all the time but for me it was a fantastic acheivement as there was what i would regard as some fine shots competing in it!

i found the gun to be very well made, balance and handling was fantastic, they realy dont build them like that anymore! I used brownings mirokus, and berettas! But they dont feel the quality that did, im not saying this as fact its just my opinnion!

I regret letting it go and id have it back tomorrow if i could, i did try to get it back but apparently its was bought by a gentleman down south!

From what i have read they are made from winchester 101 actions, says it all realy! Im currently looking for a similer nikko at the moment, that gun realy made an impression and got a bit of attention from the older shooters, fantastic peice of quality shotgun making!
