jmooney
I'm with you. White gives me heartburn. To me wine is French and red, preferable from the Burgundy region.
Lord Geordie
Red wines with full body, Rose wines but I like the sharp cirtus ones. Whites but sweet like Moscatto and Reinhessen. I also like the Sparkling stuff like Champers But NOT Sommerblunchen, Libfraumilch or Lambrini

Ogi73
red if not with food, red or white with food, not too fruity with either. Unfortunatly still not quite feeling right from last night 3 pints cider and 1 1/2 bottles of Rioja, year ago would have woke up feeling fine but have cut down a lot and now get damn hangovers, never did when drinking heavily! Master of wine just started a work, so going to get recomendations off him every weekend and stop drinking the same Rioja Gran famila from co-op (it is nice though). Right.....shower and off to pub

Vince Green
Hot tip, try Sainsburys own brand red wines, merlot etc. The restaurant where my student son works occasionally buy it for house red and sell it for £5.99 a glass and loads of customers comment on how nice it is. Thunderbird
Classifying wine by colour (once you get into it) as about as much use as classifying food by colour. Best way to get into wine is to go to a few tastings run by your local Majestic, or similar. Often very cheap (in fact often free) and the best way to discover more about what is an amazingly varied subject. Never listen to what anybody says about wine, especially when they refer to an entire grape variety, they are always (and I mean always) giving you the wrong advice. People (like with gun recommendations) are always so keen to tell you what they do and don't like. Again, about as much use to you as tits on a fish.
